  1. ooh more films here than I expected from Sonny Crockett.

I’ve seen 8 of the 30 films on the chart. Favorites are – Guardians of the Galaxy, Django Unchained, Knives Out and A Boy and his Dog.

Bruce, I can’t remember seeing Don Johnson in Guardians of the Galaxy vol.2 and on further inspection he wasn’t in it. There is a musician? rapper? listed with the same name playing a ravager in the film. You might want to amend the chart.

    Good stuff. Vote Up!

  2. I have seen Don in 3 movies: Tin Cup; Dead Bang which I found OK at the time but can’t remember much about now; and the thriller Guilty as Sin co-starring Rebecca De Mornay. I have unfortunately never seen Miami Vice.

Guilty of Sin reminded me a lot of 1985’s Jagged Edge and the relationship between Glenn Close and Jeff Bridges in the latter film: in both movies the lead lady was a lawyer defending a ‘charmer’ [Don and Jeff respectively].

The Work Horse gives Guilty as Sin just a 48% rating as opposed to the 74% his sources award Jagged Edge but nevertheless in Guilty as Sin I was impressed with Johnson, and sexy Rebecca De Mornay had a certain appeal

  3. I remember back in 1998 going to San Francisco on vacation. I was on the city bus tour and we passed the TV series Nash Bridges being filmed on a street. Passing by the bus was Don Johnson during a break in the action. Cheech Marin was nowhere to be seen.

Don has never been on the Oracle of Bacon Top 1000 though he has popped up in a few interesting flics. These are the actors on the 2020 list he has appeared with.

    1. Hey Dan. As always thanks for putting together these lists. That is cool that you got to see (though briefly) Nash Bridges getting made. I actually knew Don Johnson before Miami Vice, as I remember seeing and really liking A Boy And His Dog…..that was almost 10 years before he became so famous. Looks like his ex, Melanie Griffith is his most frequent Oracle co-star….as they appeared in three movies together. Now that is a small amount of Oscar winning co-stars. Looks like Book Club and Django Unchained provided almost half of those 16 winners. Good stuff. You are the man.
