    1. Hey Dan
      1. Glad you were able to leave New York…I hope your stay in Houston is enjoyable.
      2. We have always been traveling the last month….as we just got back from New Jersey a couple of days ago….and are headed to Tennessee in a couple of weeks.
      3. Strange that you went south and I went north….lol.
      4. As always…thanks for putting together these lists….lots and lots of information as normal.
      5. Most frequent Oracle star is….drumroll…..as I count…..a tie with Yul B. and Mike P. Not surprised that two movies is the leader…as he has not really made many movies.
      6. 16 Oscar winners….lots of connections to the new Moreno documentary….I should probably add that documentary to his movie list.
Good stuff as always…stay safe in your travels.

  2. I saw George Chakiris on stage as Count Dracula in London’s West End would you believe. Way back in 1979. The late Roy Dotrice played Van Helsing. Every time a fake rat scurried across the stage there were screams from the audience. I still have the program.

I’ve seen just 3 of the films on the chart, my favorite’s are West Side Story, 633 Squadron and Kings of the Sun.

West Side Story tops all the charts, as it should.

    Good stuff Bruce. Vote Up!

    1. Hey Steve….thanks for checking out our George Charkiris page….that only leaves Ben-Hur alumni Hugh G. when looking at every single Best Supporting Actor Oscar winners that needs an UMR page. That is very cool that you saw George in London’s West End…..Dracula on the stage….that should have been fun. Tally count. 7 for Flora and 3 for you and me. I have seen Kings of the Sun, West Side Story and The High Bright Sun. West Side Story is the easy winner when looking at his movies. I did discover a worldwide rental number for that movie….which puts it’s worldwide gross over a billion (adjusted gross). Good stuff.

  3. Before commenting on the films I have seen, I see that you need to edit the first sentence of your second paragraph. You say that George Chakiris (1931-) is an Oscar-nominate American actor. It should say Oscar-winning American actor.

I have seen 7 George Chakiris movies, all in the top 10.

The HIGHEST rated movie I have seen is West Side Story.

The highest rated movie I have NOT seen is 633 Squadron.

The LOWEST rated movie I have seen is Flight From Ashiya.

    Favourite George Chakiris Movies:

    West Side Story
    Song of Love
    The Young Girls of Rochefort
    Is Paris Burning?
    Flight From Ashiya

    Other George Chakiris Movies:

    Diamond Head
    Meet Me in Las Vegas

    1. Hey Flora
      1. Thanks for the feedback on George Charkiris.
      2. Thanks for the heads up on Oscar winning versus Oscar nominated….I usually look for similar previous UMR people to copy and paste the format of the page…..in this case….this time around I picked Ned Beatty…….because I was thinking he was Oscar winner too…..which he was not…..this was a long way of saying….it has been fixed.
      3. Tally count: 7 for you and a combined 6 for me and Steve (3 each)
      4. I have only seen one of the 7 you have seen….West Side Story
      5. Good stuff as always.

      1. You don’t add uncredited extra roles to your tables, usually. I forgot to tell you that George Chakiris is one of the men dancing in the “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend” with Marilyn Monroe in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.

        1. Hey Flora….if George got a screen character name I included the movie into this page…..but if it said things like Dancer or Dancer #3, I did not include it. Good points on him dancing with Norma Jean in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Good stuff.
