    1. Hey Taylor…thanks for stopping by. She is a well known actress in the acting world….but her movies were never big at the box office….so I bet the general movie going audience does not really know her. Good stuff.

  1. I have seen 3 Glenda Jackson movies, one for which she won Best Actress.

    In order of preference, they are;

    Women in Love – a favourite
    Hopscotch – a favourite
    Sunday, Bloody Sunday – not a favourite, but a solid film

    1. Hey Flora…..wow….I have you doubled in Glenda Jackson movies….that really shocks me. I have seen two of your three. Women in Love….which I thought was ok. Hopscotch is in my Top 3 Glenda Jackson movies….right there with Lost and Found and A Touch of Class (her George Segal romanctic comedies) and her other Walter Matthau movie…House Calls. Good stuff as always.

  2. I remember going to a sneak preview of Stevie back in 1980 in an art theater in New York and hated it. Glenda has never been on the Oracle of Bacon Top 1000 Center of the Hollywood Universe list. These are the actors on the December 15, 2018 list she has appeared with.

    1. Hey Dan. I bet New York was one of the few places Stevie played. Her movies barely got much of a push here in North America. I would have been shocked if she was on the Oracle list. Actually the first list is pretty short in comparison to others you have included in previous comments. 13 Oscar winning co-stars is on the low side…especially since her movies would generally be called “artsy”….which normally gets some good thespians. Good stuff as always.

  3. It’s a little quiet around here Bruce, everyone on holiday?

    Looking at the chart… I haven’t seen any. I’m surprised, Glenda Jackson was quite famous here in Britain. I’ve seen bits of Ken Russell’s Women in Love and The Music Lovers but I don’t think I’ve ever finished them.

    I wanted to tivo Mary Queen of Scots but missed a recent screening on TV. I’ve seen the new version starring Margot Robbie, didn’t like it much.

    A well respected actress, as you’ve noted she became an MP later in life.

    Nice work Bruce. Vote Up!

    1. Hey Steve. Yep…..it has been quiet around here. We have not heard from Bob since “his” Roger lost that epic Wimbledon classic finals….he might be still recovering….lol. No Glenda Jackson movies for you….I am shocked. I have seen 6. Women In Love (did not really like it), A Touch of Class (good chemistry with George Segal), Lost and Found (return engagement with Segal is not as impressive as the first), House Calls and Hopscotch with Walter Matthau both fun movies…House Calls became a popular tv series in the states….while Hopscotch is all Walter with support from Glenda. I actually just watched HealtH the other night…I was looking for a trailer when I found the whole movie….and since that is considered the “least seen Robert Altman movie” I watched it. It is ok at best..even with a good cast (Jackson, James Garner, Lauren Bacall, Carol Burnett). Good stuff as always.

  4. “Glenda Jackson uses hostility as a come-on. She seems to say, “All right, try to win me over if you want to, but I won’t make it easy.” Men find her attitude a challenge, and women like her because she’s shrewd and indepenent”. Rating The Movie Stars (1983)
