Judge Reinhold (1957-) is an American actor, screenwriter, film producer, and director.  Many people might know him as Detective Billy Rosewood from the Beverly Hills Cop movies or Dr. Neil Hamilton from the Santa Clause movies.  In our household he is known for playing Brad Hamilton in 1982’s Fast Times At Ridgemont High.   His IMDB page shows 111 acting credits since 1979.  This page ranks 24 Judge Reinhold movies Best to Worst in 6 different categories.  Television roles, shorts and movies not released in North American theaters were not included in the rankings.

  • If movie title is a blue, then there is a  Judge Reinhold movie trailer attached to the page link
  • Sort Judge Reinhold movies by co-stars or in some cases directors
  • Sort Judge Reinhold movies by adjusted box office grosses using current movie ticket cost
  • Sort Judge Reinhold movies by box office rank in the year of release

  • Sort by how many Oscar® nominations and how many Oscar® wins each Judge Reinhold movie received.
  • Sort Judge Reinhold movies by Ultimate Movie Rankings (UMR) Score.  UMR Score puts box office, reviews and awards into a mathematical equation and gives each movie a score.
  • Use the search and sort buttons to make this table very interactive.

  1. Until this new page appeared I had never really been aware of Judge Reinhhold and on checking out posters and cast lists on Wikipedia for his films it’s easy for me to understand why.

    Whilst he has had a few lead roles they have been in films featuring no important stars and in many other cases he has been well down cast lists.

    In the past 20 years he has been in a number of films that I have never heard of and several of his movies have gone straight to video.

    He has done a lot of television work in his time but I could not find his name in the cast lists on Wikipedia for the last 6 TV productions for which they give him acting credits so presumably his contribution to them was not significant.

    The 4 movies that he made in the past 6 years are not mentioned above and Wikipedia whilst it lists them in his filmography does not even bother to review them – Comics Open, I am Potential, My Many Sons and Highly Functional.

    However perhaps Russell Crowe is still a Reinhhold admirer because apparently Judge was jailed for disorderly conducting in 2016 for a confrontation at Dallas airport with security personnel.

  2. Wow,Judge gets an UMR page! Have not thought about him in years. Loved his supporting roles in BHC trilogy. Thanks for the blast from the past.

    1. Hey SteinHoF16….glad our Judge page brought back some “blasts from the past”. Thanks for stopping by.

  3. Judge Reinhold is no longer on the Oracle of Bacon Top 1000 Center of the Hollywood Universe list. He was # 730 on the 2000 list. These are the actors on the 2016 list he appeared with.

    On Judge and Ricardo Montalban I have not called the 2000 list the first list done. I asked the author of the site when they would do new updates on the site any time soon. I also asked Patrick Reynolds who created the site about their baseball site (actually owned by Baseball research) when it would be updated since it’s centers list has not changed in 10 years or so. Also I asked if the 2000 list was the first because that’s as far back as the wayback machine site went for the site. Answers;

    1) the regular or current list of the Oracle of Bacon won’t be updated for a while because the IMDB is making it more difficult to draw info from (tell e about it).
    2) Baseball reference has bought his program for their site but hasn’t bothered to update the all time lists.
    3). Yes! There is a 1997 list available now but it’s only 620 numbers with Kevin bacon at #620 so it looks like it’s just up to where he ranked. The list is similar to 2000 minus 380 people but a quick scan reveals;

    3 actors you have done pages on who have never appeared on lists from 2000 on;

    419 Don Ameche
    528 Sylvia Sidney
    618 James Cagney

    Bess Flowers is not on the list. I think because these are the earliest days of the IMDB only info from books was input. As times went by and more members contributed things like identifying all uncredited appearances things changed.

    How the heck is Teri Garr # 50.

      1. Hey Dan….thanks for this link. An interesting Top 3…Donald P., Christoper L. and Rod S. I of course had to look up some of my favorites…Caine sits in 19th and Willis sits in 181st….both moved up over the years. Interesting list.

    1. Hey Dan
      1. As always…thanks for the lists and the information….a treasure trove of trivia for sure.
      2. So Judge has worked his way off the list…..I guess it is a long way from his glory years of the 1980s.
      3. First list…I got a kick out of seeing Bill Paxton listed on Stripes….I re-watched that one….for the sole purpose of finding Paxton in the movie….could not identify clearly at all….there is one scene….where he might have been the 5th soldier in the back row second from the left….lol.
      4. Only 7 Oscar winners for Judge….I guess he needs to start making some more movies…lol.
      5. I saw Bess Flowers did not make the list…..sniff sniff…poor Bess…she never gets any respect on your lists…lol.
      6. That is cool that you are able to communicate with the writers of the Oracle of Bacon.
      7. The baseball list sounds like it would be fun to check out….on that list I would be curious how Dwight Evans did….though I guess another one of my favorites Nolan Ryan would fare much better….more different teams and more years.
      8. Teri Garr was the “go to” blonde of the 1970s and 1980s….she used to be a frequent guess on David Letterman…had a crush on her for sure…so #50 sounds good to me.
      As always…you are the man.

  4. Looking at the charts I’ve seen 8 of the 24 films listed, less than I thought.

    Favorites are the three Beverly Hills Cop movies, particularly the first one. Gremlins, Ruthless People, Stripes and Vice Versa. Movies I used to watch all the time in my video renting days and rarely watch now. Sad.

    I haven’t seen any of the Santa Clause movies.

    Beverly Hills Cop was his biggest hit and Gremlins tops on the critics chart. I’m surprised they haven’t remade that yet using CGI instead of glove puppets… er Gremlins not Beverly Hills Cop, aah we were easier to please back then. 😉

    Nice work Bruce. Vote Up.

    1. Hey Steve Lensman…..I have seen 17 of these movies….seen the entire Santa Clause trilogy many times…..the benefit of having so many children…lol. I really liked the first Beverly Hills Cop movie…I thought the second one was a bloated mess..and the third is so forgettable. Ruthless People is a funny movie….and Reinhold is really good in that one. He is barely in Gremlins and Stripes….but I noticed him in both movies. I am sure any day, we will be reading about a Gremlins reboot…..think about if Michael Bay got his hands on that franchise…it would be epic….and loud and tons of special effects….lol. Good feedback as always.

  5. Well there is a name from the past. For awhile he seemed like he was in almost every movie. Now I can’t imagine too many people remember him. I think I first noticed him in Stripes. Fast Times is my favorite Judge role. He is pretty funny in Vice Versa. Bring back the 1980s.

      1. Hey Steve Otherone…..took me a second to get your name…Steve Other One…..Steve Lensman has been commenting here for years…..and he always uses two words as his name…so you can stick to Steve if you want….or you can go with Steve Otherone….we are just glad you found our little website.

    1. Hey Steve Otherone….I agree his heyday was in the 1980s…..I was hoping he would interact with me…but my attempts to communicate with him did not work. I remember when Vice Versa came out….it was the year of the “body switch”…as numerous movies with that twist came out…Vice Versa was one of the better ones. I loved him in Fast Times At Ridgemont High as well.
