Requests

requests1

Thankfully we get lots of requests for new pages.  Well…the wife recently informed me that my way of collecting my requests was pretty weak.  She seems to think that writing down requests on whatever piece of paper or napkin or bill that is currently on my desk is not the way to do it.  So….since she is way smarter than me….I have decided to create a page just for requests.  Plus it should give a good idea of what pages are coming down the pike.

My logic in picking which page to do next….I lean heavily towards the subject that has the most requests.

  • Roger Corman – request by Dan
  • Peter Cushing – request made by SteveLensman, Dan & Brando 90
  • Disney Live Action 1967-1980 – request by Mimic
  • Foreign Movies requested by Laurent
  • Samuel Goldwyn – request by Dan
  • Sam Katzman – request by Dan
  • Fritz Lang – request by Lupino, Just Me
  • Bruce Lee – request by Brando 90
  • Harold Lloyd – request by Søren, Me
  • Henry Mancini – request by Flora
  • Patricia Medina – request by Dan
  • Mirisch Brothers – request by Dan
  • Edward Small – request by Dan
  • Rudolph Valentino – request by Laurent

Completed requests:

Many more to come…have to find all of my old napkins and transfer the requests to this page.

  2. Hi Mr. Cogerson,

I want to nominate Classic actress Spring Byington.

She was nominated for a supporting actress Oscar in 1936- You can’t take it with you.

Appears in two Oscar Best Picture winners: Mutiny on the Bounty (1935) and You Can’t Take It with You (1938), and four other nominees: Little Women (1933), Dodsworth (1936), Jezebel (1938) and Heaven Can Wait (1943).

    Thx

    Mike

    1. Hey Mike….wow…you got me on Spring Byington….I do not even remember seeing her name before. I will had her to the list of people to write pages on….thanks for the suggestion.

  3. I use your website everyday to learn about movies. I was very surprised not to see “The Creature” 1985 not listed in 1985 nor in 1984. This movie was also called: The Titan, and the Titan Find. Maybe it is listed, but my aging eyeballs could not find it, thanks. PS. Not a great Science Fiction movie, but lots of cuts are used in future movies, so science fiction directors and writers were looking at it, thanks for all your efforts, Patrick

    1. Hi,
I did a brief research on this movie “Creature”.
Here is what I have found.
I looked in IMDB for releases.
It was released in Belgium in 1985, I found no box office data.

It was released in France in March,1986, If you go to Box Office Story and look in the year 1986.
It was released to 1 screen and made $20,083 dollars, for 1 week only.

If you look up actor Klaus Kinski (Box Office Story data)who starred in the movie. I found the following data,
In France overall it made $98,518.
In Spain overall it made $27,789.
In he U.S. overall it made $ 4.7 million.
Where this data comes from is unknown as of this time.

It was released in U.S. in April 1985 on a limited basis.
There is no data in Box Office Mojo or the Numbers on this movie

      Hope this helps.

      1. Hey Mike….good research….I have a hard time buying that Creature earned 4.7 million in the United States……I did see that the director….re-released a cut independently in 2003…..so I am thinking the gross is closer to 300 or 400 thousand….versus 4.7 million. I just dug out some old Variety magazines from that time frame….and I do not see any mention of Creature at all. I guess we might have to wait until the archive Variety reaches the mid 1980s…thanks again for the research.

    2. Hey Patrick….thanks for stopping by….and thanks for asking this question……I am not aware of this one….but it looks Mike has offered some information on this movie…I will see if I can find anything different. Thanks Mike…..good research.

  4. Hi Mr. Cogerson,

I want to nominate actress Miriam Hopkins.
Nominated for a Oscar one time for lead actress in Becky Sharp 1935/36.

    1. Hey Mike…thanks for the suggestion on Miriam Hopkins….I have not done a classic classic (pre 1950) in awhile…she might be coming soon…either her or Charles Farrell. Good suggestion.
