Requests

requests1

Thankfully we get lots of requests for new pages.  Well…the wife recently informed me that my way of collecting my requests was pretty weak.  She seems to think that writing down requests on whatever piece of paper or napkin or bill that is currently on my desk is not the way to do it.  So….since she is way smarter than me….I have decided to create a page just for requests.  Plus it should give a good idea of what pages are coming down the pike.

My logic in picking which page to do next….I lean heavily towards the subject that has the most requests.

  • Roger Corman – request by Dan
  • Peter Cushing – request made by SteveLensman, Dan & Brando 90
  • Disney Live Action 1967-1980 – request by Mimic
  • Foreign Movies requested by Laurent
  • Samuel Goldwyn – request by Dan
  • Sam Katzman – request by Dan
  • Fritz Lang – request by Lupino, Just Me
  • Bruce Lee – request by Brando 90
  • Harold Lloyd – request by Søren, Me
  • Henry Mancini – request by Flora
  • Patricia Medina – request by Dan
  • Mirisch Brothers – request by Dan
  • Edward Small – request by Dan
  • Rudolph Valentino – request by Laurent

Completed requests:

Many more to come…have to find all of my old napkins and transfer the requests to this page.

  1. Hi Mr. Cogerson,

I have 3 more request please for male actors in support or lead category list.
By researching your data. i found the following candidates.

Frank Morgan, 55 movies, 10572.59 monies, average 192.21, and 33 movies over 100 million.
    2 Oscar nominations.
Arthur Kennedy, 42 movies, 5507.64 movies, average 131.3, and 21 movies over 100 million.
    5 Oscar Nominations
Basil Rathbone, 40 movies, 5878.10, average 146.95, and 19 movies over 100 million.
    2 Oscar Nominations.

    Thx

    Mike

    1. Hey Mike….Basil is going to be very very difficult….he like Peter Cushings made so many British movies that a huge chunk of his career has almost no box office at. Morgan and Kennedy should be easier….thanks for the suggestions.

      1. Hi Mr. Cogerson,

        Just a thought or suggestion.
Just add Basil Rathbone or Peter Cushing domestic data only. .
If and when you receive that missing data, then add it to there overall total as needed..
There are several great actors in that situation and were part of the movie business.
It would be awesome to see one page for each with your existing data.
These actors were a part of our movie life growing up and our children now..
I don’t know your overall situation. LOL
As far for Frank and Arthur great.

        Thx

        Mike

  2. Hi Mr. Cogerson,

I have a question on why hasn’t Loretta Young been added to Leading actress Category.
2 time Oscar nominee and won 1 oscar.
I calculated within your database she has done at least 64 movies, earned at least 6263.7 im monies, average per movie is 97.87 and 26 movies that have made 100 million or more?

My next request is in the area of part time leading actress, support or character actresses.
I have reviewed 5 candidates that can be added to the list:
Mary Wickes, 36 movies, 4544.82 monies, average 126.24 and 17 movies over 100 million.
Eve Arden, 40 movies, 7058.28 monies, average 175.45. and 22 movies over 100 million.
    with 1 oscar nomination.
Zasu Pitts, 32 movies, 3301.92 monies, average 103.88 and 9 movies over 100 million.
Una Merkel, 53 movies, 6597.09, average 124.47 and 19 movies over 100 million.
    with 1 Oscar Nomination
Kathleen Freeman, 51 movies, 4126.85, average 80.9, and 17 movies over 100 million.

    Thx

    Mike

      1. Thank YOU for a great website.

I am interested in how Knights of the Round Table which I believe was a huge hit in 1953 compares (adjusted) with later films such as Camelot, Excalibur, First Knight, etc.

  3. Hi Mr. Cogerson,

Here is a new category that you can review for down the road:
    COSTUME DESIGN AND WARDROBE.
My first nominee would be Edith Head. In IMDB she did 440 movies and TV..
She has won 8 Oscars and been nominated over 20 times.
    Please review and advise

    Thx

    Mike

  4. Hi Mr. Cogerson,

How many years of reviews will you be doing 1970 thru 1979? I remember you stated that the 1980s were slim.

I have another female actress to add to the list Patricia Neal. She won 1 lead actress in 1963.
She was popular in the late 40s,the 50s and 60s.

Here is some data i have researched

1949 John Loves Mary 109.80 Patricia Neal
1949 The Hasty Heart 72.20 Patricia Neal

1968 The Subject Was Roses 26.90 Patricia Neal
1979 The Passage 9.70 Patricia Neal

    Thx Mike

    1. Hey Mike…..the current goal is to go to 1979……at that point there would be a bridge from our classic years to Box Office Mojo’s current years….plus that would give us a time span of 1930 to 1979……over fifty years. At that point….not sure how I will do the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s….or even if I will do them. We do have pages that cover 2011 to 2018. Patricia Neal would make a good UMR page.

      1. Hi Mr. Cogerson,

How about movies that involve Dancing as the category.
Top Hat, Oklahoma, Saturday Night Fever, Dirty Dancing and on..

        Thx

        Mike

        1. Hey Mike….good suggestion. I think our massive Musical page would probably cover many of these movies….I will have to see if we encompassed these movies on that page. Good stuff.
