  1. Interesting political perspectives from the two of you on Brexit…..not educated enough on the subject to give a good opinion….but if you guys are with Sir Michael…then damn it….it is good enough for me…..lol.

    1. Hey Flora…sounds like my Audrey Totter knowledge is about to increase on Monday….looking forward to it…too.

  2. HI STEVE I agree with everything you say. Strange, isn’t it ?1 What odds would a bookie have given of that happening?

Mrs May ferociously attacked Brexit on the eve of the vote when she – and indeed probably almost everybody – though Remain had it in the bag. Previous to that her nickname among her then fellow-remainers was scathingly “The Submarine” because she lurked beneath the water for long periods during the campaign so that she would not have to fully commit herself to either side in the debate. .

The EU negotiators with the power and backing of 27 countries behind them are used to getting their way unless they are up against a skilled opponent which Mrs May is unfortunately not in my opinion

That factor is compounded according to lawmakers by Article 50 having been designed by the EU to give themselves a massive advantage in negotiations should a country wish to leave and observers reckon that so far everything has gone according to the EU plan

Michel Barnier the EU’s top negotiator has said of her “She always says no until she says yes.” One political journalist,pro-Brexit, expressed it thus “She has been like a gambling virgin an a Las Vegas casino amongst a clique of card sharks who are taking her to the cleaners.” Conversely Michel Barnier got a standing ovation this week when he appeared before the representatives of the 27 other. EU nations

One can have no respect either for the Westminster politicians who have allowed her to take charge. What on earth was the Leave side who had the whip hand after the referendum result thinking of in putting in charge known Remainers? It would be like a party winning a general election and putting the defeated Opposition leader in as Prime Minister.

The constitutional position in that example might be different but the principle is the same. It makes one more appreciative of ole Caligula who made his horse a senator to show how little he thought of the Roman senate.

Look forward to Audrey so in meantime have a good weekend and take care. My response to your Joan Bennett video will be posted later tonight.

Thank God for Cheyenne Autun, The Longest Day and The Greatest Story Ever Told

    1. Hey Dan
      1. Pretty cool that you have gotten the chance to see Gates of Heaven cemetery in Hawthorne…and those celebrity final resting spots.
      2. In Richmond, Virginia…there is a cementery that sounds like that….lots of famous people rest there as well…and it has been around for years. The one time I tried to go there….it started pouring down rain and our visit was canceled and never revisted. Pretty sure it was the cementery they filmed Bruce Willis’ The Jackal…and Bruce’s bad guy character ended up being buried there….wow…talk about going off on a tangent…sorry about….lol.
      3. I figured Sal would not be on the current list….surprised Charlton Heston is still holding on so well….I mean he passed away over 10 years ago.
      4. Only one Bess Flowers movie….her name has been absent in the recent lists.
      5. 23 Oscar winning co-stars is pretty awesome considering he made so few movies….The Longest Day and The Greatest Story Ever Told…certainly helped that total.
Good information as always. Thank you.

  4. HI STEVE

I voted for Brexit myself and Sir Maurice supports it so the 3 of us have been thinking in tandem, though I respect the stance of those who wanted to remain whilst I may not agree with it. I maybe would have sat on the fence and abstained if I had realised how much of a hash the Brexit leadership was going to make of it.

Firstly they put 2 Remainers in charge, Mother Theresa and Philip Spreadsheets Hammond [the Remainers’ Trojan horses] so that some historians reckon that the end result will be arrangements that are tied up in such tight knots that you won’t be able to spot them and if you do you won’t be able to free yourself. In short we’ll be out in name only as the saying goes according to the predictions of some historians and political observers.

The top brass among among the true Brexiteers have not so far overly impressed me and BoJo running through a field of wheat in his Pyjama bottoms and bedroom slippers to take the p**s out of Theresa May is lightweight stuff in my opinion.

Anyway I have more serious things to think about now such as penning a resposne to your Joan Bennett video. When can we expect Audrey Totter?

    1. Hi Bob, glad we agree on Brexit and the mess this current government is making of it. I don’t think May’s heart is in it, she wants Britain tied to the EU forever. Historically I’ll bet she’s the last female Prime Minister Britian will ever have. Thatcher was tough and much hated, May is weak and useless. The EU gargoyles have treated her like dirt, laughing behind her back.

Audrey, guns blazing, will be tottering into view on monday if all goes well.
