  1. Glad to see you back….I thought it was going to be awhile before we heard from you again. So now that I know you are back….I figure I would update the Glenn Ford page….and pick one of your classic requests for the next page. My mom will represent Canada this time around….lol.

  2. I have seen 40 of the listed films, plus an additional 5 not listed. He’s one of my favorites. Great job on the page.

    1. Excellent Larry.

Although I have not signed in to TCM because I do not want to be commenting, I did notice that you have changed your avatar to your latest actor who is dead in alphabetical order of actors whom you want to see all the films of them and that it is Burt Lancaster. Great since their westerns on TCM this month.

      1. Hey Flora….Very interesting about Larry changing his avatar….I had not noticed that before….I have fixed your spelling error.

    2. Hey Larry….you are on top….back to a possible gold….though it was very close.
      Larry from USA 40
      Cogerson from USA 39
      Steve from England 29
      BERN1960 from Canada 18
      Flora from Canada 10
Thanks for checking out our latest page.

  3. Ah this is more like it. One of my favorite actors and still alive too! 🙂

I was watching TLJ recently in a new film titled ‘Criminal’ which also stars Kevin Costner, Ryan Reynolds and Gary Oldman. An interesting but predictable action movie.

Tommy Lee Jones has played heroes, villains, leading men and supporting roles, he has also directed too. Looking at the trivia – 4 Oscar nominations and 1 win for The Fugitive, not bad.

I have seen… 1,2,3… 29 of the 51 films listed. Favorite movies include – Under Siege, The Fugitive, Men in Black trilogy, Batman Forever, Captain America, NBK and JFK.

Top rated movies I’ve missed include – Mrs. Miniver, sorry wrong page, Coal Miner’s Daughter, Three Burials, Hope Springs and Blue Sky.

JFK 4th on the UMR chart, hmmm it’s arguably the most important film on the page. I wasn’t impressed with Senor Spielbergo’s Lincoln, maybe if Oliver Stone had directed it…

Black Moon Rising is worth a look, an 80s action film starring a wrinkle-free TLJ and also stars Sarah Connor aka Linda Hamilton. One highly unlikely car stunt between two skyscrapers predates a similar one in Fast and Furious 7 by nearly 30 years.

Jones as Snake Plissken? Nah I’m glad it was Kurt Russell. I hope they don’t pick Tom Hardy for the eventual reboot. 😉

Another awesome movie page Bruce. Voted Up!

    1. Actually, I do want to say that I love these films now that Steve has answered and been silly:

No order: keep in mind I won’t do rankings just overall numbers of films but top 5 favourites:

      Space Cowboys
      Coal Minor’s Daughter- my favourite
      JFK
      The Fugitive
      Natural Born Killers

Overall – and I won’t go by rankings – too long a comment:

      I’ve only seen 10?

      WEird.

Yes, Steve – it is great to see a page on someone who is still alive but who has had a long career already.

      1. Silly Steve tries to imagine Flora on the sofa watching NBK and enjoying it. That film’s as far from Mrs. Miniver as you can get.

        1. Yes. Silly Steve. It was one of those things where you have to watch all the films of an actor.

        2. Hey Steve….maybe you do not know what Mrs. Miniver is about…..Greer Garson and Walter Pidgeon go on a killing rampage and work their way through all the Nazi occupied countries….taking back all the stolen paintings…wiping out some Nazis….as they try and find Hitler. All the while Walter Winchell is reporting on their adventures…..lol.

      2. Hey Flora….like Steve….I am somewhat stunned that Natural Born Killers made your Top 5. Granted it has a very similar story to one of your all-time favorite Martin Sheen movies…Badlands. Thanks for taking part in the Viewing Olympics….so far we have 5 tallies.
        Larry from USA 40
        Cogerson from USA 39
        Steve from England 29
        BERN1960 from Canada 18
        Flora from Canada 10
I am curious if we see another sighting of Rendon….seems he checked out a few pages, made the request and has not been seen since.
Thanks for sharing your TLJ thoughts.

    2. Hey Steve….
      1. Glad this one is more to your liking.
      2. I will check out Criminal soon….it seems like it was just at the cinemas (note I did not say theaters….lol). I can’t believe another Ryan Reynolds body switching movie is here.
      3. I agree he has done well in all roles….I liked his bad guy in Under Siege…. I sorta of wish he would have gotten away with it….but he did not consider the ship’s cook….lol.
      4. Tally count:
      Larry from USA 40
      Cogerson from USA 39
      Steve from England 29
      BERN1960 from Canada 18
      Flora from Canada 10
      5. I told you Mrs. Miniver is haunting you. As for the ones you missed….Coal Miner’s Daughter is probably the best….the others are ok at best…though Jessica Lange is good in Blue Sky (she did win the Oscar for that one).
      6. Lincoln was a one and done movie for me….but I thought Jones was pretty good in the movie.
      7. I saw Black Moon Rising years ago….I have a vague memory of the scene you mentioned…..another during that time frame that I enjoyed was Stormy Monday…..with Jones, Melanie Griffith and Sting (yes Sting) are giving good performances.
      8. You have to remember back then Kurt Russell was known as the Disney boy…..AKA Dexter Riley….which is about the polar opposite of Snake.
      9. Is the Escape From New York reboot back on? I thought it got pushed to the back burner.
      10. Thanks for the thoughts, visit and comments.

  4. I like him. Overall I have seen 18 of his movies. I have seen The Missing but I really did not like his character at all. I did not know that he made that many movies. THANKS AGAIN FOR THE INFORMATION ON THIS SITE.

    1. Hey BERN1960…..thanks for stopping by and commenting and playing the tally count game. 18 is a pretty good number….we will see if can stay in the Top 3. He actually has not made as many movies as I thought….he took a few breaks….a three year break and then later a four year break. Glad you liked this UMR movie page.

  5. BERN1960. I like him. Overall I have seen 18 of his movies. I have seen The Missing but I really did not like his character at all. I did not know that he made that many movies. THANKS AGAIN FOR THE INFORMATION ON THIS SITE.
