  1. RIP William Smith

Millions watched Rich Man Poor Man in the 1970s and they hated his character, the murderous Falconetti. Going way back he had a tiny role as a little boy in the Universal horror classic Ghost of Frankenstein (1942).

My favorite role of his is as Conan’s father in Conan the Barbarian (1982), a film I watched many times in my video years.

I’ve seen 10 of the 25 films on the chart. Favorites are – Any Which Way You Can, Maverick, Twilight’s Last Gleaming and Conan the Barbarian

    Nice tribute Bruce. Vote Up.

    1. Hey Steve…..thanks for checking out our William Smith tribute page. I have seen 9 of the movies listed….only one behind you. I did not include his early uncredited roles…but you are 100% correct…he was in 1942’s Ghost of Frankenstein. I have seen all of your favorites. With the exception of Twilight’s Last Gleaming…I saw the other three in theaters. Thanks for the feedback. Rest in Peace William Smith.

    1. Hey George. I agree 100%. For years he was known in my mind as that boxer in the Eastwood chimp movie. Then the evil Russian in Red Dawn. He leaves behind a very good movie legacy. RIP!

  2. I first saw William Smith in Seven from 1979 doubled billed with something called Jaguar Lives.

William Smith appeared in lots of films that connect him to no one the Oracle List (basically everything 1970 on).. Bill had been missing from the Oracle list since they went to Wikipedia info. He was # 698 on the last list based on IMDB stats but he was # 74 on the 2000 list. These are the actors on the 2020 list he appeared with.

    1. Hey Dan. As always thanks for the trivia lists and for checking out our William Smith tribute page. He made so many more movies than the 25 I listed here. Granted…those movies did not really even see movie theaters…..but he was a very busy actor. I can easily see him being on the old Oracle list. He still has lots of connections to the new list. Cameron Mitchell gets the honors of being the most frequent Oracle co-star with 4 movies. I agree with you 100% on your thinking of the pretty impressive total of 26 Oscar winning co-stars…I would have not guessed that high of oa number at all. Good stuff as always. Rest in peace William Smith.

  3. I have seen 7 William smith movies.

The HIGHEST rated movie I have seen is Maverick.

The highest rated movie I have NOT seen is Conan the Barbarian.

The LOWEST rated movie I have seen is Mail Order Bride.

    Favourite William Smith Movies:

    Maverick
    The Mating Game
    36 Hours

    Other William Smith Movies:

    Any Which Way You Can
    The Outsiders
    Rumble Fish
    Mail Order Bride

    1. Hey Flora. As always thanks for the feedback. Sad that this is connected with a passing. To me he was the type of actor….that you count on to give a good performance…..even if his character was bad most of the time. Tally count: Steve 10, me 9 and you 7. I have seen Maverick and 36 Hours from your favorites list….but not The Mating Game. On your “others” list I have seen Any Which Way You Can, The Outsiders and Rumble Fish (which I just re-watched in the last couple of months). Good stuff. Rest in Peace Mr. William Smith.
