Requests

requests1

Thankfully we get lots of requests for new pages.  Well…the wife recently informed me that my way of collecting my requests was pretty weak.  She seems to think that writing down requests on whatever piece of paper or napkin or bill that is currently on my desk is not the way to do it.  So….since she is way smarter than me….I have decided to create a page just for requests.  Plus it should give a good idea of what pages are coming down the pike.

My logic in picking which page to do next….I lean heavily towards the subject that has the most requests.

  • Roger Corman – request by Dan
  • Peter Cushing – request made by SteveLensman, Dan & Brando 90
  • Disney Live Action 1967-1980 – request by Mimic
  • Foreign Movies requested by Laurent
  • Samuel Goldwyn – request by Dan
  • Sam Katzman – request by Dan
  • Fritz Lang – request by Lupino, Just Me
  • Bruce Lee – request by Brando 90
  • Harold Lloyd – request by Søren, Me
  • Henry Mancini – request by Flora
  • Patricia Medina – request by Dan
  • Mirisch Brothers – request by Dan
  • Edward Small – request by Dan
  • Rudolph Valentino – request by Laurent

Completed requests:

Many more to come…have to find all of my old napkins and transfer the requests to this page.

  1. Alan Arkin
Sam Katzman (produced serials, the Bowery Boys, lots of cheap swashbucklers at Columbia, Jungle Jim and rock and roll movies).
The Mirisch Brothers (produced the Pink Panther films, the Great Escape, the Magnificent Seven , In the Heat of the Night and many others).
Hal Wallis (big time producer at Warner Brothers in the 40’s then went to Paramount and produced all the Dean Martin/Jerry Lewis films and a number of Elvis movies which you have all the stats on).
Samuel Goldwyn (produced Eddie Cantor, Danny Kaye, Best Years of Our Lives, Wuthering Heights, Guys and Dolls etc.)
Roger Corman (both producing and directing, over 400 films, most probably worthless).

    1. Hey Dan. Arkin would be the easiest of the bunch. I have not done any producers yet….I have been thinking of Selznick….but Katzman, Mirisch Brothers, Wallis, Goldwyn and Corman….would make good subjects. Granted some might be massive projects…especially Mr. Corman…I will add them to the list. Thanks for the suggestions.

  2. Tony Curtis, William Hurt (still around see upcoming Captain America flic) and Jeremy Irons (Alfred in the new Superman/Batman flic).

  3. Thanks for the suggestion Dan. I will have to put my thinking hat on for that one. Ward Bond (classic) and Mark Strong come to my mind currently. Could be interesting.

  4. How about some people you’ve come across that had unusual careers or surprisingly were in a lot of box office hits but you would never think of (no extras).
