    Hey Bob
    1. A little bit of Kathleen Turner showed up on Angela Bassett’s page….I have corrected that error and put Contract in it’s rightful place….thanks for the headsup.
    2. So it is not Dan’s fault….it is our fault…..so hopefully things are settling down in Belfast….lol.
    3. That is interesting trivia about Bassett and Brando and billing. Good company for Ms. Bassett…Taylor and Suzman….ok…I admit….not too aware of Suzman.
    4. Having DeNiro and Brando in a scene together….had to get some butts in seats…..so I think…his fee was well deserving. It is actually one of my favorite Brando roles….as it is one of the few that I have seen…that it looks like Brando was enjoying himself.
    5. Thanks for sharing your favorite Bassett movies….she has made a nice mark in movie history…..she has a new television show these days…maybe that will spark a career renewal in movies for theaters.
    Good stuff.

1 HI BRUCE You mention Roger Rabbit as Angela’s top scoring UMR flick but I don’t see it on her chart and none of IMDB, Wiki, The Numbers of Mojo credit it to her? But you’re right about one thing WH because I’m sitting here in tears as it is certainly a fall from grace if Dan can’t link a performer in somewhere. All I can conclude is that our Daniel is yet another person on this site that has fallen under the Rasputin-like spell of You Know Whom.

2 However Angela can boast of two trivial historical distinctions on top of being the big one of being in a select group of African-American actresses [listed by you above] to make the big time. She was the last actress ever to appear in a Brando film [The Score] and in that flick became one of only 3 actresses to be billed before Mr Mumbles in a non-alphabetical cast list after the 1951 Streetcar, the other two being Liz Taylor in Reflections in a Golden Eye and Janet Suzman in A Dry White Season.

3 However when he co-starred with Liz Mr M was going through his “wilderness” years and he had just a cameo in the latter film and little more than that in The Score. However he picked up an Oscar nom for Dry White, and for The Score he was paid a fee that would probably represent the entire pension pot that most nearly-80 year olds would enjoy on top of which in Mr M’s case Michael Jackson paid another small fortune for acting lessons which the Great One apparently conducted in drag!. So in some in cases Barbara Hershey in Hoosiers was wrong – certain Gods still don’t “come cheap” Put that in your pipe and smoke it Dan!

4 As your table amply illustrates Angela was never a vertiginous box office star but once again you have demonstrated that your site comprehensively covers a wide range of different types of deserving careers. My own favourite Bassett films were Malcolm X, Contact and especially Arnie’s Kindergarten Cop though I also enjoyed The Score and the one fly in the ointment regarding that one was Mr M joining DeNiro in Robert’s usual tirade of gratuitous swear words. I could do without lines like “I’ve been ****** by a bug!” For once I would have been happy had Mr M mumbled a line so that I couldn’t hear it
