  1. Cogerson…as ALWAYS your page is superb…As for Al, it boggles my mind but I’ve had a love/hate kind of thing goin on with him throughout his career. I liked him as “Michael Corleone” and “Scarface,” but so many of his others, I thought he was so mistakenly cast for the part. Sure, I’m no expert or a Critic, but I know what I like. I think it’s ME, because he’s certainly considered one of the BIG GUYS of the Screen. I even TRIED to like him, funny as that may seem. For awhile I even thought maybe it’s the MOVIE I didn’t like…..but ALL those movies? I actually walked out in the middle of 2 of his films! “Cruisin” & Scent of a Woman.”…..But again….GREAT MOVIE PAGE! AND THE INTERVIEW WITH LADY SUNSHINE IS SUPER!!! gross.

    1. I am right there with you fpherj48, I realize he is one of our greatest actors…but something about his acting style seems to always rub me the wrong way…..I think his career in the 1970s was so strong…he has lived on that success for the last thirty years….his role in Scent of Woman…was a career Oscar versus a Oscar for a great performance. I am not surprised you walked out on Cruisin…it is a horrible film…..thanks for the compliment on the hub and the Sunshine interview

  2. I have to admit I am not the biggest fan of Pacino since his great run in the 1970s, since then he seems to be living on past laurels.

    1. I agree with you DellMany…but I respect how great his movies were in the 70s, one of best runs ever…thanks for commenting.

  3. A good page as usual. I loved sea of love. First off pacino’s charactor was more realiztic than most movie detectives. The man made several common mistakes, also it had Ellen Barkin a very sexual actress. She doesn’t fit the sex symbol sterio type of most hollywood females, i,e, she is to big,not fat just large, her eyes are too small, her nose too big. Yet she is sexy as hell,

I have seen every john Cazale movie except The Conversation. He had distinctive eyes and a Large forhead. He could have went on to be quite an accompleshed actor.

Never saw scent of a woman, you’re hub doens’t make me want to. Juggling Granades while drunk? Are you kidding me?

The Godfather 2 was good as we saw that micheal lost control of his family and his business. In his defence I think the problem was his wife was a american lady, not an obediant scilian like his mother or his first wife that was killed, As for his business, times were changing, the things his father dealt with were not the same as micheal had.

    1. Hey ruffridyer….Sea of Love is an underrated movie….although 9th on this list is pretty impressive….as for John Cazelle is part in The Conversation is probably his smallest part…but the movie is pretty good…..Al Pacino does not lose his sight on screen…..the grenade juggling occurs before the movie starts….so the whole movie he is blind….I wonder if they have a deleted scene where we watch him juggle grenades……I agree with you about the Godfather 2….as always thanks for the detailed responses to my movie page….it is greatly appreciated.

  4. Nice article on Al, I actually grew up in the next neighborhood as him, I think I meet him a few times, not 100% sure as it was years later that he became famous.

    1. Thanks Colorprinter…too bad you can not verify if that was Al years ago…thanks for reading and sharing that information.

  5. I have been a life long fan of Pacino, I think this is one of the best articles I have read about his movies, you have everthing listed, very nice. I am probably one of the few people that like Cruising, so I wish that one would have been a little higher.

    1. Thanks for the great compliment ILoveAl…..I have only seen parts of Cruising….but I am glad it is a favorite for you….it is currently ranked #23 for him….thanks for stopping by.
