    1. Hey Dan. Thanks for sharing these lists and trivia on Alain Delon. I am surprise he’s been highly rated on the Oracle list. Granted it took forever to write this page because the man had so many movies. I think six French people me Joel’s book, so far twi done and 4 to go. Looks like Jean Paul is his most frequent oracle costar. That is five less movies I have to research when I do a page on him. Delon has more Oscar winning co-stars than I would have guessed. That is one of the benefits of writing a page about somebody you don’t really know, you get to know them better. Good stuff as always.

  2. I have seen 9 Alain Delon movies. I am a big fan of Alain Delon and am happy you were able to do a page on him.

The HIGHEST rated movie I have seen is Texas Across the River.

The highest rated movie I have NOT seen is The Leapard.

The LOWEST rated movie I have seen is Swann in Love.

    Favourite Alain Delon Movies;

    Le Samourai
    Purple Noon
    The Yellow Rolls Royce
    Once a Thief
    Is Paris Burning?
    Texas Across the River

Other Alain Delon Movies I have seen:

    L’Eclisse
    Red Sun
    Swann in Love

Monday, August 31st is Alain Delon Day on TCM with 24 hours of his films. I will be adding several Alain Delon movies to my seen list:

    Rocco and His Brothers
    Scorpio
Have I the Right to Kill
    Lost Command

    1. Hey Flora. Thanks for checking on our leaders page. As we get down to the end of the Joel subjects, I will have to do pages like this one. Of the last 22, four of them are French actors, nine of them are British actors. Lots of their movies never saw the light of day in North American theaters. So Debbie create a new table that ignores domestic box office and only shows worldwide box office.

Tally count. 9 for you, 3 for me. The Leopard is loved by many…especially filmmakers….I was bored with it. His Le Samourai is much better. So I do not think you are personally missing much…but others would strongly disagree with me.

Good information on his upcoming TCM day. Good stuff as always.

  3. 22 Joel subjects to go. I have only seen 3 of his movies….#1 The Leopard, #4 Le Samourai and #71 Concorde 1979. No idea if these rankings are good or not….maybe our French readers like Laurent and Pierre can share their thoughts on our Delon rankings.

  4. His forceful personality and dashing good looks are the main reasons Alain Delon has remained an international star. The epitome of suave French male sensuality, Delon typically played in French and Italian reworkings of suspense drams in the Bogart style.

Rating The Movie Stars – 4 Star Alain Delon Performances
    1960’s Purple Noon
    1962’s l’Eclisse
    1964’s Joy House
    1967’s Le Samourai
