  1. I have seen Anna in just 2 movies 1/Lost in Translation. However she is not among the main cast in that one and I can’t remember her from the movie, which I enjoyed.

2/the first Scary Movie. Write-ups that I have read would suggest that she had the lead in that franchise, but I really can’t place her in the one that I saw and anyway that’s academic because I found the film a huge bore and never watched any of the rest of them.

Scary Movie 2 might have sucked me in if Brando had played the cameo that he was contracted for but he fell ill and was replaced by James Woods. I like James a lot but not enough to watch that kind of movie. The tagline on some of the posters “More Sex. More Screams” says it all for me.

Accordingly there is not much I can say about Anna except to mention that she has a reported net worth of $30 million and IMDB credits her with 1 acting award and 22 noms. I like the sound of her name and its nice to see a new face on Cogerson so “Vote Up!”

ADDITIONAL TRIVIA-THE LAST LAUGH: IMDB reports that Brando, being Brando, was allowed to keep the $1 million that they paid him up front for his Scary Movie 2 aborted cameo. The producers felt that they had their pound of flesh via the publicity gained about even his non-appearance – it was an honor to have his name connected with their film in ANY capacity.*** Joel must be turning in his grave!

***It’s not for me to push for it but other fair minded viewers might feel that within that context there is a case for adding Scary Movies 2’s figures to Marlon’s Cogerson grosses. It could be regarded as the Great Mumbler’s ‘Split’ outing.

    1. Hey Bob. Thanks for sharing your movie thoughts on Anna Faris. I remember when the rumors were that Brando was going to appear in the movie. I have seen all the Scary Movies…..but they are one and done movies for me. As for her appearance in Lost in Translation….yes it was a very small role..and like you I barely remember that role as well. I imagine her wealth collection has come from her 6 year television show Mom.

And finally….not thinking….”almost in the movie” merits making it on to somebody’s UMR movie. Bruce’s brief appearance in Split blew some many minds because of the connection it made….that many people (myself included) went to the theater just for that reason. If we open up the can of “was almost in the movie”….then movies like The Cobweb and Cat On A Hot Tin Roof would have to be added to the James Dean page. Good feedback as always.

      1. HI BRUCE

1/I was only joking about crediting MB with Scary 2’s gross. After all I don’t want his stats table to start resembling that of The Thin Woman!

2/However if I was to make a case for him benefiting it would not be on the “almost in” basis that you mention. It would that if the producers thought he gave them a million dollar’s worth of publicity [as it has been suggested they did] via the mere mention of his name then that would be consistent with your own criterion of including in a star’s grosses films that he/she had a big hand in publicizing.

Anyway thanks for your response to my own comments about Anna. Keep safe.

        1. Hey Bob…understood……for years I have thought about doing a page on James Dean with the assumption that Dean listened to Sir Alec Guinness and realized that car would indeed kill him…and Dean would have given it away. The page would look at Dean’s career if he has survived. His first movie would have been The Cobweb. After that I think MGM would have loved re-pairing Dean with Taylor in Cat On A Hot Tin Roof. At one point I had mapped out his whole career through 1971…..then I felt it might be disrespectful of Dean to continue….it is UMR’s Big Bug Man…..lol.

    1. Hey Dan….not too bad of a list (looking at the first one) for somebody that is so young. Not on the Oracle list….but I bet once she returns to movies (her Mom show seems to take over time these days) she might make the Top 1000. The Scary Movie films provide her lots of the people on the first list. I would bet her Oscar winning co-stars do not rapidly increase in the future. Especially if she keeps making the types of movies she seems to enjoy making. Great trivia share. Good stuff.

  3. Generally I find her movies pretty basic, but she is so lovely that I still enjoy them. What’s Your Number is underrated.

    1. Hey Jon. Thanks for visiting our Anna Faris page. I agree she is very lovely…and has a nice comic timing. I also enjoyed What’s Your Number?…..she and the Chrises (Evans and Pratt) are fun to watch in that movie. I also enjoyed Take Me Home Tonight….both of those movies are sadly near the bottom of my rankings.

  4. Nice Facebook link. Like her movies love your website and your positivity. Keep up the stellar work.

    1. Hey Nick K. Glad you followed that Facebook link…..thanks for the comment, visit and the kind words about our website.
