    1. Hey Dan….great lists as always. Only #586 on the Oracle list…..at first I thought that was lower than I thought….but he actually does not have too many movies…..mainly because he was in his mid 30s when he found stardom. POTC is well represented on the first list. Johnny Depp leading the way with 5 movies. I think the 4 Judy Davis is the more impressive stat than the many co-stars of the 5 Pirates movies. Of course…happy to see Michael Caine at the top of the first list.

Second list….18 is on the low side. Wow….Minions had 3 Oscar winners in the cast……it did not help….as that is a truly horrible movie. Rush did help Firth win his Oscar…..can’t remember how many scenes he had with Paltrow and Dench in Shakespeare In Love. Good stuff!

  2. I have seen 4 Geoffrey Rush movies.

    Three are favourites of mine:

    Shakespeare in Love
    The King’s Speech
    Finding Nemo

    Other Geoffrey Rush Movie Seen:

    The Banger Sisters

    1. Hey Flora…..thanks for the visit to a current star…..did a classic one right after I completed this one. Tally counts: Cogerson 28, Steve 19, bob cox 17 Bob 10, and Flora 4. Two of your three favorites are Best Picture Oscar winning movies….while Finding Nemo is one of the biggest hits of all-time. I was also not too impressed with The Banger Sisters. Good stuff.

  3. I saw 17 including top 12. Cogerson nicely played, “a Rush job” LOL. I think he makes every movie better like Hackman, Dafoe, walken, duvall. over $4 billion in adj dom box office. over $10 billion world wide. 10s and favorites: Shakespeare in love, pirates of the carribean curse of the black pearl, kings speech, the book thief (a masterful tale ,war time dark, unique perspective, great child acting a hidden gem) . hidden gems: lots of Oscar love for 3 box office underachievers: munich a 9, shine an 8, Elizabeth (1998) an 8, also: best offer (fascinating and dark an 8).

    1. Hey bob cox….glad you found your requested page. It was not too “rushed”. I can see him in the same company as Hackman, Dafoe, Duvall and Walken. I have UMR pages on all of those fine actors. I think the Pirate franchise got Rush most of that $10 billion worldwide. I enjoyed The Book Thief as well. I was not too impressed with Munich. It was a good movie….but not good enough for me to ever want to watch it again. Still erked that Shakespeare In Love topped Saving Private Ryan as the Best Picture Oscar winner. Good stuff as always.

  4. I have seen just 10 Geoffrey Rush films-

    Shakespeare in Love
    The King’s Speech
    Legends of the Guardian
    Lantana
    Elizabeth 1989
Pirates of Caribbean franchise [5 listed in table]

I am pleased to see that Bruce gives Lantana a high 84% rating and in fact ranks it 4th for critical review in the above chart. My reasons

1/The hugely underrated Anthony LaPaglia was its star. IMDB credits Anthony with 13 acting awards/24 noms and his net worth is said to be $6 million. Apart from being a very good dramatic actor Tony has a flair for comedy too as witnessed by his performance as a drunken sponger in several episodes the TV sitcom Frasier for which he was nominated for a Prime Time Emmy in 2000 and won one in 2002. In 2004 he won a Best Dramatic Actor Golden Globe for the TV series Without a Trace. In 2001 he won the Australian Film Institute’s best actor award for Lantana It was therefore perceptive of Cogerson to rate that probably little-known flick so highly.

2/Barbara Hershey was also in the cast of Lantana and she is one of my own modern “golden girls” although she debuted in 1968 at the age of 20 in my Doris’ With Six You Get Eggroll co-starring Brian Keith, currently topical on the Cogerson site and in the latest Lensman video. In an interview that I saw Barbara ignored her own fine performance in the film and generously raved about LaPaglia’s.

In his lead-in Bruce praises Geoffrey’s achievement in being a Triple Crown actor winner. IMDB credits him with 46 acting awards overall and 78 noms and his net worth is said to be $40 million.

    1. Hey Bob…I am getting spoiled with all of these tally counts. I look forward to a Bob classic tally count. Tally count. Cogerson 28, Steve 19, bob cox 17 Bob 10, and Flora 4. Lantana is my first miss when looking at his UMR movies. I will have to check that one out in the near future. I think one day soon, Barbara Hershey will have an UMR page. I have liked her in many roles…but Tin Men has always been my favorite Hershey role. Sounds like Lantana was a LaPagila career highlight….glad it ranked so high in my critic rankings. Rush….has had a very solid career….I fear the best might be behind him….based on his age and his recent “bad press”. Good stuff as always.

  5. I’ve seen 19 of the 38 films on the chart. Favorites are – Pirates of the Caribbean series (Captain Barbossa seems to have been influenced by Robert Newton’s eyerolling Long John Silver), Mystery Men, Shakespeare in Love, Elizabeth, Finding Nemo, Munich, King’s Speech and of course… the Green Lantern.

Rush’s career might have stalled recently after news allegations for “inappropriate behaviour”, how many more celebrities are going to be caught up in this? Even the highly respected actor Morgan Freeman and Pixar guru John Lasseter have had their careers tarnished by ‘excessive zeal’ towards females in the workplace.

Another fine page Bruce and it doesn’t look ‘rushed’. Vote Up!

    1. Hey Steve…..thanks for the thoughts on Geoffrey Rush. I have seen 28 of his movies listed. I had no idea I had seen that many of his movies….but the POTC movies make up almost 25% of my tally. I love the first Pirates movie….the rest are bloated messes. Rush as Barbossa was a great bad guy in the first one…his parts in the others were pretty “Blah”. Mystery Men is a strange movie….but a fun movie to watch. As for The Green Lantern….it is probably time to re-watch that one. Yep….Rush is yet another to have their personal behavior become an issue. Makes you wonder every time somebody is trending these days….it used to be…did they die?….not it is what did they do 10 years ago? Good feedback as always…..funny “rushed” pun.
