  1. IMDB credits Gerard with 8 acting awards and 13 nominations. Unfortunately though 3 of the noms were Razzies.

2011: The Bounty Hunter. He shared the award with Jennifer Aniston whose receipt of it surprises me as much as a Stallone/Statham Razzie would.

In fact “many a true word is spoken in jest” as I find that Stallone holds what must be a Razzie record: 35 awards/noms down the years with a slew of them being for his endless Rambo/Rocky self rip-offs; and the haul includes as well “Worst actor of the Decade” and “Worst Actor of the Century for 99.5% OF EVERYTHING HE EVER DID”.

Sly has also secured 10 Stinkers Bad Movies and Actors awards/nominations with again his awful Rocky portrayal doing some of the damage. Full lists of Stallone’s Razzie and Stinkers Awards/noms are given on IMDB. It’s good to know that I am not after all alone in this world!!

2017: Gerard took  a double Razzie hit with Gods of Manchester  and London Has fallen.

    1. Further to my part 2 post I have confirmed in Wikipedia that as an actor Sylvester Stallone holds the records for most total nominations consecutive nominations [1984–92), and wins .

  2. I heard a lot about Gerard in the title role of Phantom of the Opera on the big screen and read about his performance as Attila the Nun in the 3 hour 2001 mini- series on television. However I have seen only 3 of his movies: Law Abiding Citizen; Part One of How to Train Your Dragon; and Mrs Brown.

The latter is my favorite and in it Gerard plays  Archie Brown the brother of John Brown who was Queen Victoria’s servant/companion and some historians suggest lover. John Brown and Victoria were played by Sir Billy Connolly and Dame Judi Dench with Billy [retired now] showing us how versatile an entertainer he was despite all that Big Yin  nonsense. [A guy who said publicly as Billy did that the two people whom he most wanted to meet in all the world were Mother Teresa and Marlon Brando is of course bound to find favor with me!]

Gerard who has also appeared in 8 television productions including Attila the Hun  has a reported current net worth of $30 million. He is sure to add considerably to that as he has in the pipeline 3 productions at post-production stage and another 3 at pre-production stage.

  3. Gerard Butler was so iconic as the Spartan King Leonidas in ‘300’ that it’s completely overshadowed all his later work, nothing really stands out in the filmography after Zack Snyder’s faithful adaptation of Frank Miller’s graphic novel.

I’ve seen 16 of the 27 films listed, favorites include – 300, RocknRolla, Lara Croft, How to Train Your Dragon 1 & 2 (great voice work in these two animated gems), Reign of Fire and Olympus Has Fallen.

Looking at the trivia, his name is pronounced ‘chair-errd’ eh okay here’s a hard one – ‘Chiwetel Ejiofor’ – try saying that after a few drinks. 😉

Animation tops the charts for Butler. No problem with that as I have always had a soft spot for animation. I’m just a big kid at heart.

Another ace movie page Bruce. Vote Up!

    1. Hey Steve.
      1. As always….thanks for stopping by and commenting.
      2. Poor Gerard…..I always like for a new page to top the trending section….but due to some Facebook shares on some of the more popular UMR pages……he could only reach the 5th spot….and is already fading.
      3. I agree with you about 300….it is turning out to be his pinnacle for sure.
      4. 16 of his movies watched….I am at…..counting….23 here….out of 30…..that is a pretty good %.
      5. I have seen RockNRolla…..but barely remember it…..especially compared to Guy Ritchie’s Lock Stock and Snatch gangster movies….maybe I need to re-visit that one.
      6. I talked a guy I worked with into watching Reign of Fire….amazingly….even though he is a movie guy….that “guilty pleasure” escaped him.
      7. I did not realize I was such a ‘chair-errd’. Apparently us Americans butcher his name so badly….that he goes by Gerry…..just to make it easier on us.
      8. Chiwetel Ejiofor….yes another tough one….so far I have not had any conversations where I had to try and butcher his name….lol.
      9. I do not really like his voice roles being at the top…..but with this update……I no longer have no choice to change the deflaut settings….that being said….when talking to my 11 year old about chair-errd…..the fact that he is the dad in those movies is the only time I see her showing interest in the useless trivia I am sharing…lol.
      Good stuff.

    1. Hey Dan. Good lists. So Mr. Butler is still moving up. I guess Family Man (not released in theaters) and Geostorm helped him move up from 2016’s list to his 550th spot on the current list. Only one co-star in the Top 10…..maybe he still has time to co-star with Michael Caine.

“MILLA JOVOVICH TRAILER FOR A REMAKE OF GORE VIDAL’S CALIGULA”….????? sounds interesting….never heard of it.

Sorry to see Desmond falling off the list.

22 Oscar winners…..is pretty good….especially since most of his movies would fall under the action genre. So of the three main stars of Reign of Fire…poor Gerard is the only non Oscar winner. As always….greatly appreciate you sharing this information.

  5. Been in love with him since 300. This is one sexy man. Other favorites would include The Ugly Truth, PS I Love You and Dear Frankie. So glad to see a current performer.

    1. Hey Helakoski….glad you like this page….I have gone back to the rotation of a classic page and a current page…..I had hoped I would have had this page done before Geostorm opened but I did not make that happen. I liked 300 a lot the first time I watched it….but on repeat viewings I was not as impressed. I did really like Dear Frankie….so I was glad to see it make his Top 10. Thanks for the comment and the visit.
