As a kid I remember always hearing about which comic book company was the best.   Many of my friends were in the DC comic camp. Batman, Superman, Flash, Green Lantern and of course the classic Saturday morning cartoon, Justice League of America (1973-1986), were the strengths of their argument. My favorite superhero was Spider-Man, who was and still is one of Marvel comics most popular superheroes….so that put me in the less crowded camp of Marvel. As an adult the same argument seems to be still being asked…only now it is which comic company is bringing the best superhero movies to the big screen.

  1. Time to update this page the best superhero movie of the year has almost double the amount you have listed. Give XMen more credit will ya.

    1. You are 100% correct….just updated the page…the box office numbers reflect the projected totals for this weekend….6/17-6/19….so the numbers should still be accurate for another week or so. 3 of the 4 superhero movies are almost near the end of their runs. Your X-Men movie still has time left….but I think it is going to hard pressed to get to $160 million in the UnitedStates….I did not see that coming.

    1. Hey Tom….glad you enjoyed Captain America: Civil War….I am hoping to see it later this week.

  2. Why do people like the dark knight so much sure its entertaining but why do people say its the best superhero movie and is it number 4 on imdb best movie list? I like V for vendetta and spiderman 2 and even batman begins way more. Also were was v for vendetta on this list?

    1. Hey Derp….I think that Heath Ledger’s performance as the Joker was so amazing..it influences how people look at The Dark Knight. I saw the Dark Knight at the very first showing and the experience was incredible….but all the greatness was when Ledger was on screen. As time has passed…the ending now seems weak….Caine and Freeman seem wasted….I never bought the Maggie G. & Christian B. relationship….so I guess I am seeing your point. At this time I am thinking Deadpool is the most entertaining superhero movie I have seen…..I wonder how time will treat that movie.

V For Vendetta is not on the list…..is it a Marvel or DC movie? I will have to check that out. Greatly appreciate you stopping by and commenting.

      1. But Avengers is also the same. At first I thought It was pretty awesome. But now when I watch it again and again, I feel it now boring and silly and filled with plot holes with corny humour. And Deadpool is the best Superhero movie? Are you kidding me? Even Iron Man 2 and Suicide Squad were better than that film

        1. I agree with you. The Avengers is very overrated. Loki was so lame. I felt Age of Ultron was better. Ultron was a good villain, better than Loki.

          1. Hey anonymous…..Loki’s master plan was just plain dumb…..great villains are great master plans make great movies…..the Avengers had neither.

        2. Hey Anonymous…..I think Deadpool is aging well…..I still find it to be a very fun movie. So at this point I stand by my comment. My son has high regard for Doctor Strange…so maybe it will change. Also I have not seen Suicide Squad. Granted time can do strange things to movies. Maybe Supernan 2 is still the best superhero movie. Thanks for taking the time to comment…it is greatly appreciated.

    1. Thank you Anonymous….it took awhile….but we really like how in one line of information…you can see a movie’s entire financial history….thanks for stopping by.

    1. Hey Ed….thanks….I fixed the extra Avengers 2 and added in the not so stellar Fantastic Four movie….not good when you barely edge out Catwoman. Thanks again for the catch.
