  1. I saw 5. including 5 of top 11. hated llewyn davis(his big lead). he is rarely billed in top 5. no 10s, no 9s. I don’t like him. he diminishes a movie not improving anything.

  2. BRUCE to STEVE”Hey Steve….Star Wars is getting up there in age….just think by the time Lucas releases his 50th anniversary super special limited edition version….Disney will be wrapping up the Stars Wars 10, 11 and 12 trilogy”

Oh no – there’s another Christmas spoiled even before it has properly begun! Just as you thought it couldn’t get worse with Work Horse talking -yet again – about Dire Hard being a Christmas movie, there is now the threat of more Star Wars films and even a 50th anniversary special.

That may perhaps be a joke; but remember “many a true word is spoken in jest.”: there are guys I know on this site who think there have not been nearly enough of ANY of those franchise rip-offs!.

      1. STEVE

As Canuck Walter Huston sang in the 1938 Broadway musical production of Knickerbocker Holiday-

Oh, it’s a long, long while from May to December
But the days grow short when you reach September
And the autumn weather turns the leaves to flame
And I haven’t got time for the waiting game

And the days dwindle down to a precious few
        September, November
And these few precious days, I’ll spend with you
These precious days, I’ll spend with you

    1. Hey Bob….so you have not seen any Oscar Isaac movies…..very interesting. I would have thought for sure you would have seen the Clooney masterpiece Suburbicon. I actually am not too impressed with his Star Wars character….it is pretty “blah” in my mind. It is his non-franchise movies that he has performed the best in my mind. At Eternity’s Gate….he does well in the Anthony Quinn role in Lust For Life, he is awesome as the genius in Ex-Machina, he outshines Christian Bale in The Promise (though I did not really enjoy the movie), outstanding in Drive…though his role is small. I think he has the ability to be around for a very long time. This generation’s Andy Garcia…quality actor…that is known….just will not be a superstar. Good stuff as always.

  3. I have in fact seen none of Oscar’s films as for example his highest grossing flicks are all from franchises that have long since appealed to me. Indeed I see that this site’s sources give The Last Jedi just a 57% rating whilst X Men and Jason Bourne just shade “good” with 60% and 65 % ratings respectively. So is even the Cogerson site with its worship of action franchises beginning to spot these rip-offs for what they are?

Maybe I should have said though that I had seen half an Oscar flick as I started to watch Robin Hood but gave up half-way through. I know WH admires Russell Crowe and that Bruce would have enjoyed Cate Blanchett’s performance as the legendary Maid Myrna; but I could not stay the course with the movie which in fact gets just a 57% Cogerson rating.

Oscar is said to have $10 million in the bank at the moment and that Christian name alone should ensure him enduring Cogerson love!

    Happy Thanksgiving

    1. Hey Dan
      1. Hope your Thanksgiving was an awesome as ours was….lots and lots of family…and lots and lots of food.
      2. Thanks for sharing these Oscar Isaac trivia lists…..they are always appreciated.
      3. So poor Oscar got bumped from the Oracle list when the source changed….I think he will work his way back on the list…especially since he is so busy these days.
      4. Looks like Mark Hamill will become the first Oracle co-star to reach three movies with Isaac…..granted Hamill’s first appearance was so brief in part 7.
      5. Looking at the Oscar winning co-stars…17…..is a good start…heck that is more than Donald O’Connor’s lifetime total.
      Good stuff as always…..thanks again.

  5. The end of the Star Wars ‘Skywalker’ saga coming up soon, looking forward to that. The first movie (Episode IV) is 42 years old, jeez.

I’ve seen 13 of the 34 films on the chart, less than I thought. Favorites include- Star Wars VII and VIII, Ex-Machina, Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse, X-Men Apocalypse and Drive.

I wonder if his Star Wars character will continue in future films in the series, or do they kill him off in this new one?

Top rated films I haven’t seen are – Inside Llewyn Davis and A Most Violent Year.

    Good stuff Bruce. Vote Up!

    1. Hey Steve….Star Wars is getting up there in age….just think by the time Lucas releases his 50th anniversary super special limited edition version….Disney will be wrapping up the Stars Wars 10, 11 and 12 trilogy…lol. In all seriousness it really makes people like us feel old when realize how many years have passed since Star Wars first came out.

As for Oscar Issac….I have seen 22 of his movies. Seen all of your favorites…with Spiderverse and Drive being my favorites as well. I think his character in Star Wars will survive…at least until the next trilogy. As for the two critical darlings you have missed….you are not missing much. Good stuff as always.
