UMR Review of Spider-Man: No Way Home

Why I watched this one? Spider-Man was my favorite comic book heroes growing up. The reviews from professional critics and movie goers were awesome. I have enjoyed Tom Holland as Spidey.

What is this one about? With Spider-Man’s identity now revealed, Peter asks Doctor Strange for help. When a spell goes wrong, dangerous foes from other worlds start to appear, forcing Peter to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.

Things I did not like about the movie. 1. Dr. Strange comes across as a doofus at the beginning of the movie. The entire plot of the movie needs him to not be able to successfully complete a spell. This is Dr. Strange..so that did not ring true. 2. Yet another MCU movie with a big CGI finale…only this time we get numerous heroes and villains.

Things I really liked about the movie. 1. Loved the story….being able to use different universes offered up so many story lines and returning characters. 2. The performances across the board are stellar. 3. Movie has a nice balance of humor, drama and action. 4. Near the end of the movie there is a scene between three superheroes that is the highlight of the movie. I could have watched that scene for an entire movie. 5. The blasts from the past are fun to see again. 6. I loved how the movie concluded.

Final thought: A blast to watch. I really liked this one….and it is in my Top 10 of superhero movies.. A movie that begs to be watched again.

  1. One of my favorite films of the year. I think though at the end they got cheap (when the credits were finished) whlich just looked like an ad for an upcoming film (too may scenes shown).
