    1. Hey Dan. Thanks for these trivia filled lists on Dianne Wiest. I would have thought her ranking was close to the 742nd that you mention. She has been a pretty busy actress since the 1980s…though she seems to be slowing down now. Looking at the first list…and the most frequent co-star is Mia Farrow which is not really a surprise…especially when you consider the Woody Allen factor. 32 Oscar winning co-stars is better than average. Although she and Michael Caine won Oscars for Hannah and Her Sisters….not thinking they did much acting together. Seems he did most of his scenes with Farrow and Hershey and she did most of her scenes with Farrow, Hershey and Caine. Good stuff as always.

  2. I’ve seen 6 of the 39 films on the chart, less than I thought.

Favorite movies are – The Lost Boys, Parenthood, Robots and Edward Scissorhands.

I’ve also seen – The Purple Rose of Cairo and Bright Lights Big City.

I’ve only seen bits of her highest rated film Hannah and her Sisters, and her most successful film The Birdcage.

The Lost Boys is an old favorite I’ve watched many times over the decades, usually at Halloween.

    Good stuff Bruce. Vote Up!

p.s. Holly Hunter is still floating around at the top of the page.

    1. Hey Steve. Thanks for the input on our Diannnne Holly Wiest Hunter page. I have seen 27 of her movies. Surprised you have only seen 6 of her movies…..especially since many are pretty big movies. Hannah and Her Sisters, The Mule, Footloose and Birdcage seem like movies you would have seen. As for your favorites…right there with you on Parenthood and The Lost Boys. I am not a huge music person…but I love the music in that one. Thanks for the headsup and yet another error that was in this page. Good stuff.

    1. GOOD THINKING BATMAN!

I would be grateful if you WOULD delete yesterday’s 9.47am post. As you can see it is a jumble that somehow came together from 3 different copy posts in my archives and I then posted the result by mistake.

I realized my error about halfway thru the 5 mins you allow for editing and I actually requested a cancellation and was told by your system that the request had been granted, but obviously the latter didn’t proceed. Apologies for the inconvenience.

  3. I have seen 6 Dianne Wiest movies.

The HIGHEST Rated movie I have seen is The Birdcage.

The highest rated movie I have NOT seen is Parenthood.

    Favourite Dianne Wiest Movies:

    Edward Sissorhands
    The Birdcage
    The Horse Whisperer
    Footloose

Other Dianne Wiest Movies I Have Seen:

    I Am Sam
    Bright Lights, Big City

    1. Hey Flora. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Dianne Wiest. I am impressed with your movie count. I would have guessed a smaller total. I have seen 27 of her movies…..including the six you have seen. I did not enjoy The Birdcage as much as I thought I would…mainly because I did not find it very funny. I would recommend Parenthood… I think you would enjoy it. Good stuff as always.

  4. Dianne has a reported net worth of $18 million dollars and IMDB credits her with 34 acting awards and 27 noms. Most if not all of the awards and noms are in the official supporting actress category.

I have tended at times to confuse Dianne with Louise Fletcher of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest as to my eye they have borne a physical resemblance to each other at certain stages of the lives.

However I’m not overly-familiar with the work of either actress and I have seen just 2 of Dianne’s films: Falling in Love and The Horse Whisperer.

    1. Hey Bob. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Surprised that you have only seen two of her movies. Shocked that you have not seen one of the movies that Sir Michael Caine won an Oscar for…..Hannah and Her Sisters. Tally count: Me 27,Flora 6 and you two. Interesting that you get her mixed up with Louise Fletcher. No argument from me about her being a supporting actress. Looks like supporting thespians can earn some good money too. Good stuff.

      1. Although it featured two of my own all-time faves [Sir Maurice and Babs Hershey] I never watched Myrna and Her Sisters because I didn’t like Woody Allen when the film came out.

However since then I’ve seen his Blue Jasmine and Midnight in Manchester so I have revised my opinion of the great Allen Stewart Konigsberg as a director/writer [though not as a performer] and ‘Sisters’ is therefore on my ‘to see as soon as possible’ list.

So I am like the guy with the wheelbarrow: it’s all in front of me! Take care
