As I was working on my latest page, Best Movies of 1946 and I got into a conversation about my latest page subject with one of my children (my 21 year old daughter). Matthew McConaughey (1969-) is an American actor who began his acting career in 1991. After appearing in supporting roles in movies like 1993’s Dazed and Confused, 1994’s Angels in the Outfield and 1996’s Lone Star, he got his first big break by getting the lead role in 1996’s A Time To Kill. Since the success of A Time To Kill, McConaughey has become one of the more recognizable leading men working in movies today. He has appeared in romantic comedies, action films, Oscar® winning dramas and even some horror films. Our personal Top 3 McConaughey movies are Reign of Fire (2002), We Are Marshall (2006) and Interstellar (2014).

I really like him. He is very underrated, probably because of his looks and his choices of romantic comedies, but he can be a great actor, when he chooses to. His performance in Killer Joe was perfect, and he also had a nice turn recently in Lincoln Lawyer.

I love a lot of his movies and I really like him as a person and actor. Dazed and Confused wasn’t a huge role for him but it was a great role that could not have been filled by anyone but him. He probably could have played himself and it would have been just as good. It was an iconic role for an iconic movie in my opinion.
Haven’t seen Magic Mike yet but looking forward to it.
Hey nmdonders….I just recently saw Dazed and Confused for the first time…..but I could tell how he got the best reviews and would have been a face to look for in the future. I would say Lincoln Lawyer and his Kate Hudson movies are my recent favorites of his…..thanks for the visit……P.S. I highly doubt I will ever see Magic Mike….unless my wife insists we watch that on DVD in the future.
