  1. I am hoping Antonio Banderas gets at least a Best Actor nomination for Pain and Glory. I have not seen the movie yet, but the Cannes buzz has been off the charts.

    1. Hey Banderas Fan….I had also read that Banderas was getting great reviews for Pain and Glory. It would be awesome if he got a nomination. Thanks for the return comment.

  2. I thought Antonio was great in Interview with the Vampire and Philadelphia and I liked him in Assassins but although a fine actor he never joined that magic circle of stars who had the box office clout of the likes of Cruise, Hanks and Stallone each respectively the main star in the 3 movies I have just mentioned.

Indeed since his big hit The Mask of Zorro 20 years ago he has not made much of a mark at the box office outside of voice roles, the Spy Kids franchise and the animated Spongebob. [See stats table above]

Certainly there has never been a run of stand-alone Banderas movies like that which we have gotten from the likes of Arnie, Denzel and Bruce Willis.

However he is a very likeable actor in my opinion and I find him easy to watch so I welcome this new Cogerson page.

    1. Hey Bob….thanks for the thoughts on Mr. Banderas. You make some very good points. Not thinking too many people saw Spongebob because he was in it….I am sure a few Banderas diehards….but Spongebob has a much bigger following than Banderas does. I agree he is a very likeable actor. Just saw a trailer for his Desperado (it was on the Missouri Breaks DVD I was watching)….it made me want to watch that one again. 20 years since Zorro? Wow….that does not seem possible. Good feedback.
