Antonio Banderas  (1960-)  is a Spanish actor, singer, and producer. He began his acting career with a series of films by director Pedro Almodóvar and then appeared in high-profile Hollywood films, especially in the 1990s, including Assassins, Evita, Interview with the Vampire, Philadelphia, Desperado, The Mask of Zorro, Take the Lead, The Expendables 3 and Spy Kids.   1. For awhile I was a pretty big fan of Antonio. From Desperado to the Zorro movies he was a good action star. The last decade has not been good to him. Nice new page. You have been busy. Keep up the good work.

    1. Hey SteinHoF16…..I think the time frame from Desperado to the Zorro will go down as his peak years…..he is quickly closing in on 60……maybe he will have a Ricardo Montalban comeback in his 60s. Good feedback.

  2. I was never a fan . saw 4 of top 7, 2 of bottom 6, total 9. I might add Philadelphia , the tom hanks HIV movie. the only 10. no favorites. hidden gem is four rooms, quirky , Roth, Willis an 8 . surprised a near pornographic original sin did not do better at box office with nude love scene for jolie and banderas clearly making the movie worse as it lost all tempo.

    1. Hey bob cox…..Tally count….me 32, Steve 19 and you at 9…..so you have the bronze medal….congrats…lol. I love Tom Hanks…but Philadelphia was a one and done movie for me. Not thinking Banderas’ part was too big. Surprised you liked Four Rooms so much….I thought it was ok…..some of the parts are pretty uneven…..I do like the Bruce Willis story…..though even that one drags. Original Sin….seen it….but it quickly faded from my memory. Thank for sharing your thoughts on Antonio Banderas.

  3. The Mask of Zorro was my best film of 1998 also the last film I saw in the Bronx while I was a resident there. I saw more movies in the next 3 years or so in The Bronx while I would visit my mother but I was outta there as a resident. Last film seen in the Bronx was 2002’s Clockstoppers.

    Antonio is #160 on the 2016 Top 1000 Oracle of Bacon Center of the Hollywood Universe list, he’s up to 148 now. These are the actors on the 2016 list he appeared with. I saw him advertised in something today, I think it’s called This is Life with Annette Benning,

      2. See he has a nice spot on the list….and moving up…..seems those direct to dvd movies get too much credit on the Oracle list….I wonder if there is a market for only doing connections on movies released in theaters.

      4. 6 movies with Danny Trejo……Trejo is the hardiest working man in movies….making about 20 movies a year….too bad the movies are unknown to most movie lovers.
      5. Not many stars on the second list……the name that jumped out to me was John Glover….for awhile it seemed he was in a lot of movies….did a quick IMDb check on him…now 74…he is still active….but his credits have really slowed since his high Oracle rank.
      6. 25 Oscar winning co-stars is pretty impressive….especially since his movies do not seem to get much Oscar love.

  4. Bruce, you’ve been spelling Banderas name wrong everywhere, let’s hope he’s not browsing this page. Could have been worse it could have been Antonio Bandanas or Bandola. 😉

    I’ve seen 52 of the 45 films on the chart, more than I thought…. okay enough kidding, I’ve seen 19 of the 45 films on the chart, more than I thought….

    Favorites include – Desperado, Once Upon a Time in Mexico (the long awaited sequel to Once Upon a Time in America), The Mask & Legend of Zorro, Interview with the Vampire, The Shrek films and Puss in Boots (which looks great in 3D).

    It’s been ages since I watched The 13th Warrior, wasn’t that impressed with it but it does have a cult following, best thing about it was the music by Jerry Goldsmith.

    You’ve done Latino actors it’s only fair you do actresses too. Hayek? Cruz? Saldana? Lopez? Mendes?

    Nice work Bruce, Bendoras would be proud. Vote Up.

    1. Hey Steve……wow….that was bad…misspelling his name. It was spelled correctly in the database….just wrong as you said…”everywhere”…..but it is now fixed. So you have seen 19 of these movies….I am at 32…..much more than I would have thought. I have seen all of your favorites with Shrek 2, Desperado and the Zorro movies as my favorites as well. I recently watched his Gun Shy….it is a bad movie with a good role for Antonio. He plays a burned out former rock star. I can see doing some Latino actresses in the future. We do have a Zoe page already. Hayek and Cruz seem like ones I could do very soon. Thanks for the vote up, the comment and the tally.
