Bradley Cooper Movies

Bradley Cooper (1975-) is 4 time Oscar® nominated actor. He has two Best Actor Oscar® nominations (Silver Linings Playbook and American Sniper) one Best Supporting Actor Oscar® nomination (American Hustle) and one Best Producer nomination (American Sniper).  On the box office side of things, Cooper, has appeared in 12 movies that have crossed the 100 million dollar mark in domestic box office.  With all of his success….I figured it was time to do a Ultimate Movie Rankings page on probably the hottest (not talking about his looks) actor working today.

His IMDb page shows 51 acting credits since 1999.  This page will rank 32 of his movies from Best to Worst in six different sortable columns of information. Cameos, television appearances, straight to DVD movies and shorts were not included in the rankings.

Bradley Cooper Movies Ranked In Chronological Order With Ultimate Movie Rankings Score (1 to 5 UMR Tickets) *Best combo of box office, reviews and awards.

Bradley Cooper Movies Can Be Ranked 6 Ways In This Table

The really cool thing about this table is that it is “user-sortable”. Rank the movies anyway you want.

  • Sort by Bradley Cooper movies by co-stars of his movies.
  • Sort Bradley Cooper movies by adjusted domestic box office grosses using current movie ticket cost (in millions)
  • Sort Bradley Cooper movies by adjusted worldwide box office grosses using current movie ticket cost (in millions)
  • Sort Bradley Cooper movies how they were received by critics and audiences.  60% rating or higher should indicate a good movie.
  • Sort by how many Oscar® nominations and how many Oscar® wins each Bradley Cooper movie received.
  • Sort Bradley Cooper movies by Ultimate Movie Rankings (UMR) Score.  UMR Score puts box office, reviews and awards into a mathematical equation and gives each movie a score.

    ADDITIONAL TRIVIA
1/In your opening quote Cooper says he doesn’t see the difference in the skills required for doing both dramatic acting and comedy. However Brad is apparently a method actor and in an interview Richard Harris said that the acredited “King of Method” in Richard’s day could “do anything but comedy. Brando simply cannot do comedy.”
2/I have long tended to confuse Brad with Ryan Gosling and it didn’t help avoid that confusion that both appeared in The Place beyond the Pines [with Ryan top billed].
3/The Cooper/Gaga version is the first one in which the male lead gets top billing. In 3 prrevious versions Janet Gaynor/Judy Garland/Barbra Streisand were all billed above their male counterparts. – Frederic March/James Mason/Kris Kristofferson respectively

  2. 1/On top of his film career Brad has appeared in 18 television productions between 1999 and 2016; has contributed to a 2017 Theme Park Attraction centred around Guardians of the Galaxy; he released in 2018 a musical album with Lady Gaga associated with their movie A Star is Born; he released also in 2018 4 single musical recordings two of which teamed him again with Lady G; and he has appeared in 3 stage plays from 2006-15 one of which was The Elephant Man with Brad in the title role

Movies of Brad’s which I have enjoyed are All about Lensman; Limitless; and Place Beyond the Pines. I took my grandchildren to see the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie in which Brad has a voice role. I watched Changing Lanes but his scenes were apparently deleted from that.

Bradley is currently filming Nightmare Alley a thriller co-starring Rooney Mara and Cate Blanchett; and he has 3 other movies lined up at pre-production stage including Guardians of Galaxy 3. [Mara and Blanchett were last teamed in the lesbian romantic film Carol in 2015.]

Brad is credited with 56 acting awards and a massive 193 nominations and has a reported net worth of $100 million – wow!

Parts 2 and 3 later this evening or tomorrow.

    1. Hi Bob, thanks for the review, generous rating, info and trivia, always appreciated.

Glad you liked the posters and stills.

I have yet to watch the recent remake of A Star is Born but I’ll bet the male lead self destructs at some point in the narrative. 😉

A future version could feature a gender twist and let the female lead ‘shuffle off this mortal coil’, just for a change.

None of Bradley’s films scored 10 out of 10 from my sources, four scored 9 out of 10 – Silver Linings Playbook, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers Infinity War & Avengers Endgame.

Top rated at IMDB is Infinity War and no.1 at Rotten Tomatoes is Endgame.

“I never lived the life of “Oh, you’re so good-looking.” People thought I was a girl when I was little, because I looked like a girl – maybe because my mother would keep my hair really long in a bowl cut. I was in a coffee shop once and the waitress was like “What do you want, Miss?” I was 10 or 11 – the worst age to have that happen. I had a jean jacket on and a Metallica pin. I thought I was really cool.”

Bradley on shooting The Hangover in Las Vegas – “People did not react to us. That’s the one thing about Vegas: They were completely indifferent. We would go in the elevator at 5 in the morning after shooting, and I had huge scratches on my head, full make-up, and they don’t give a f**k. It was unbelievable.”

Aloha Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice & Bruce & Flora, I’m bored of youtube videos which means it’s time for a nice long break, but I shall return!

      1. HI STEVE:

Thanks for the usual thoughtful and detailed feedback.

What about two female leads for the next Star is Born remake – Rooney Mara and Cate Blanchett for example? As you seem to suggest one gets fed up with males self-destructing all the time.

I see that W o C is giving you the opportunity to again wax lyrical about Eugene. I’m watching my ‘Singin’ DVD at the moment; and I suppose you are sharpening your pencil in anticipation of making notes.

Enjoy your break by all means – but above all keep safe!

  3. Nice selection. I have seen 29 of the 30 movies listed here…and 31 overall. Favorites would include all of his Rocket Guardians movies. #4 Silver Linings Playbook, #7 The Hangover…the sequels are horrible…but the original is a comedy classic. #10 Limitless…..fun story. #22 Hit and Run….he is a blast in this low budget comedy. The only miss for me is #20 The Midnight Meat Train. Voted up and shared on our Bradley Cooper page.

    1. Hi Bruce, another excellent tally, you’ve watched a lot of films dude. I’ve seen 15 of the 30 here, not too bad.

I haven’t seen Midnight Meat Train either, from what I’ve read it’s pretty sick. I still haven’t watched A Star is Born but I’ll get round to it eventually.

Thanks for the vote, share and comment, much appreciated.

  4. H

I watched Silver Lining’s Playbook for the fourth time this weekend and I think it’s one of the best movies in the last 10 years. Everyone in the cast is top notch, especially Cooper. I definitely think he’s one to watch for the future.

    1. Hey Chris….Silver Linings Playbook is a very entertaining movie….I like you enjoyed all of the performances….easily the best think DeNiro has done since his peak years in the 1970s. Looking at this page….wow…am I behind….Serena and Aloha need to be added to this page.
