Hey Bob. As for the timing of the page…you are 100% correct his current unknown location is why he got an UMR page. He would have eventually gotten an UMR page…but this certainly moved him up the ladder. Sad news..but hopefully….his experience will help him survive. If he does, am I hoping he does….it would make a helluva movie. Hopefully today…we will here good news on Mr. Julian Sands. Good stuff as always.

When I saw you posted a page on Julian Sands, my first thought was they found him and the scenario wasn’t good. I checked the internet and all I found was the search was resuming.
All though I have seen Julian a number of times, I basically remember him from the Warlock films and Boxing Helena, which I saw in London on vacation and was my best film of 1993.
I have only seen 20 of his films listed; the highest ranked I haven’t seen is The Browning Version.

Hey Dan…sorry to make you think he was no longer among us. At this point….the 9th day of his search….it is not looking good. But as I stand in a WalMart waiting for WoC to finish shopping, there is still hope he will be found. I would not have guessed Julian Sands would be so high on the Oracle list. Though, he does have a ton of movies….even many are almost unknown. Tally count…actually pretty close 20 for you, 17 for me and 1 for Flora. He does not (at least yet) have a movie that I feel I have to rewatch. For some reason he has always reminded me of the singer Sting. Looks like numerous people are tied for most frequent Oracle co-star. Of those…I think I should do a page on Ellen Barkin….for a while she has an indeed actress. And finally, looking at the Oscar winning co-stars…13 is pretty low….two movies represent almost half of that total….A Room With An Ocean’s View. Good stuff….maybe we will hear good news on Mr. Sands.

Room with A View-a big fave of mine with the young Daniel Day-Lewis (surprisingly ignored above by a negligent Work Horse) in fine form. The wonderful Delholm Elliot is also marvellous as Julian Sands’ father if I recall correctly. Arguably Julian’s most prestigious role in any medium.

2007 Agatha Christie’s “Towards Zero”-part of a wider Miss Marple series.
2013 Supporting role of a multi-millionaire Miles Castner for Julian who iis murdered by his own wife in an episode [No 7 of Season 8 called Dress Code] of serial killer thriller series Dexter in which the twist is that the lead serial killer Dexter [played by Michael C Hall] is for once the Good Guy!
Dexter runs around like a crazed Mother Bates but doing good deeds by massacring other, evil Hannibal Lecter-type, serial killers thus protecting and saving further lives of the innocent. A serial-killing Robin Hood you might say!
2017 Agatha Christie’s Crooked House with ensemble cast top-starring Glenn Close. As Bruce says above it was given just a limited cinematic release so I watched it on TV over here where it was released on Boxing Day as a festive season special.
But don’t panic Work Horse: unlike with Die Hard they didn’t pretend Crooked House was a Christmas movie so it wasn’t in competition with the McClane ‘Christmas’ perennial for Yutide ratings. Julian was ideal for playing those wimpish English characters who frequent all of Agatha Christie’s novels, Certainly he would have been miscast as a Duke Wayne-type “A man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do!” macho American!
Hey Bob….Tally count on his movies. Dan 20, Cogerson 17, Bob 5 and Flora 1. Hmmm…we have a difference of opinion on Room With A View….though I thought it was well done….not one of my favorites. But…speaking of Denholm Elliott….maybe he needs an UMR page in the near future. I have not seen any of the television roles you mentioned. At one point, I was a huge Dexter fan. That series ended so badly (the first time)….that I never wanted to watch the recent re-boot. And finally, Crooked House played in some theaters….so it actually made the table. I remember the first time I watched it….I did not realize the leading man was the son of Jeremey Irons. I have since become aware of Mr. Max Irons. Good stuff as always.

2/I tried to watch the Dexter reboot but it hugely disappointed.
Overall I haven’t seen much of Julian’s work but what I have seen has been on both big and small screen. See Part 2
According to Celeb Net Worth site Julian has a current net worth of $3 million. He has in the pipeline 4 movies at the post-production phase and awaiting packaging for release; and a 5th movie which is at “in development” stage.
In one or other of the 4 immediate ones he is in the company of veterans such as F Murray Abraham, Danny Glover, and John Malkovich and Julian is well-up in the cast lists of all 4 playing parts ranging from top-billed lead to supporting character.
In the 5th and more distant production he is second billed to Emile Hirsch in what is a thriller called “Past Life”.
What may have prompted this new page is that at 65 years of age Julian has sadly gone missing on a hiking trip in California.
As I write the authorities are still searching for him Let’s hope they find him live and well. Anyway This Work Horse new page is suitably timely and is therefore “Voted Up”
