Want to know the best Michael Caine movies?  How about the worst Michael Caine movies?  Curious about Michael Caine box office grosses or which Michael Caine movie picked up the most Oscar® nominations? Need to know which Michael Caine movie got the best reviews from critics and audiences? Well you have come to the right place….because we have all of that information.

My father introduced me to Michael Caine (1933-) in the movie The Man Who Would Be King. Since that 1975 movie I have followed his career very closely. I am probably one of the few people on Earth who not only saw The Swarm at the theater but also Beyond the Poseidon Adventure  at the theater. After years of struggling as an actor, in the mid 1960s he finally became a star with the British films Zulu, Alfie, and Ipcress Files.  Since then he has starred in roughly 90 movies.  Over the years Caine has received 6 Oscar® nominations and 2 Oscar® wins.  Not only is he still popular after a 60 plus year career but he is still appearing in some the biggest movies out there (Inception, Batman trilogy). Currently he is director Christopher Nolan’s good luck charm.  Caine has appeared in the last 7 Nolan films (he has an uncredited voice role in 2017’s Dunkirk).

His IMDb page shows over 170 acting credits since 1956.  In the table below, Ultimate Movie Rankings ranks his movies in 6 different sortable columns.  Television roles, cameos, shorts and straight to DVD movies were not included in the rankings.

  1. Not that The Swarm is a good movie, but it did get one Oscar nomination. You do not seem to have that listed. Otherwise this was a very enjoyable Caine tribute page.

  2. You’ve seen Now You See Me, Bruce, how does it rank with Caine’s other magician movie – The Prestige?

    1. Hey Steve….I really liked Now You See Me….and the wife liked it even more….but I would say it is not as good as the Prestige….but I think the first 80% of Prestige is awesome.

I am just glad to see Michael Caine still making movies….currently he only has one more project on IMDB…but I am sure Chris Nolan will find him a spot in his latest movie. Thanks for the comment.

  3. I laughed when I saw this page in my feed – only because I watched “Miss Congeniality” today for the umpteenth time. I love M. Caine in this one. He’s so funny and droll – or in Sandra Bullock’s words, “dripping with disdain.” A great actor.

    1. Hey Esmeowl12…thanks for checking out Caine hub. He is a very busy actor even as he closes in on 80. I think he is excellent in Miss Congeniality. And I also enjoy that “dripping with disdain” line as well.

  4. Wow you’re still at it! I don’t think you’ll ever run out of cool actors to write about on here. Just saw Michael Caine in the film SecondHand Lions, he’s great! Was great in Miss Congeniality too

    1. Hey Emilybee..yep I am still at it…so many stars to do movie pages on and so little time to do it….lol. I love Secondhand Lions, it has one of the best endings…so funny and so much like the characters that Caine and Duvall play. It was nice to hear from you.

  5. Journey 2 The Center of the Earth was filmed in my area and I wish I would have seen him. Cool update, Cogerson!

    1. Hey Alecia, that is very cool that they filmed the movie near you. My son in Alaska got that recently with a movie called The Frozen Ground…and the stars(John Cusack and Nicolas Cage) of that movie were hanging all the local bars and dining places. Thanks for checking out one of my biggest pages.
