Idris Elba is one of my favorite current actors- though mainly due to the fantastic BBC series LUTHER. Nevertheless, I have seen 10 of his movies listed here, and my favs are 28 weeks later, Pacific Rim, The Jungle Book and Star Trek: Beyond.

1. Thanks for checking out our latest page. As I watched Thor 3 this weekend…it occurred that it was time to give Idris Elba some UMR attention.
2. I agree with you about your mini-review of Thor: Ragnarok…..a fun movie with many scenes that I want to watch again.
3. I just edge you with having seen 19 Elba movies.
4. Of your favorites….I would put Thor 3, Star Trek Beyond, Zootopia and The Jungle Book in my list of favorites as well.
5. I actually think he would make a good Bond…..I am sure on the next Bond lull….like during Dalton’s Bond days…..the producers will go for the diverse Bond…..but that is at least 5 to 10 years away….and then Idris will be too old for the part.

Hey Dan…..as always….thanks for sharing this information. At the rate of movies that Idris is making….I think he will be moving up the ranks very very fast. Looking at the current co-star list….it looks like his Thor role is connecting him to about 1/3 of all the names on the list. 19 Oscar winners for a pretty recent career is pretty darn impressive. I strongly expect that he will be an Oscar nominated actor this time next year. His role in Molly’s Game is getting some very strong Oscar attention. Good information…as always….you are the man.
Was watching Idris Elba as Heimdall in Thor Ragnarok a week ago. I thoroughly enjoyed the film btw, not only hugely entertaining but hilariously funny too. Highly recommended.
I’ve seen 18 of the 30 films on the chart, favorites include – Thor 1-3, Avengers Age of Ultron, Prometheus, Star Trek Beyond, Zootopia and The Jungle Book.
Looking at the charts, Zootopia (aka Zootropolis) is no.1 on the UMR and critics charts, fun animation but Thor 3 should have been up there instead it’s had some great reviews and it’s already grossed more than $400m in less than 2 weeks.
Idris Elba as James Bond? Nah he’s a good actor but Bond should stay white and no female Bond either. They’ve already ruined Dr. Who for millions of fans. The diversity thing is getting out of hand, would African Americans accept Matt Damon as John Shaft? I think not. 🙂

Hey Dan…..as always….thanks for sharing this information. At the rate of movies that Idris is making….I think he will be moving up the ranks very very fast. Looking at the current co-star list….it looks like his Thor role is connecting him to about 1/3 of all the names on the list. 19 Oscar winners for a pretty recent career is pretty darn impressive. I strongly expect that he will be an Oscar nominated actor this time next year. His role in Molly’s Game is getting some very strong Oscar attention. Good information…as always….you are the man.
Was watching Idris Elba as Heimdall in Thor Ragnarok a week ago. I thoroughly enjoyed the film btw, not only hugely entertaining but hilariously funny too. Highly recommended.
I’ve seen 18 of the 30 films on the chart, favorites include – Thor 1-3, Avengers Age of Ultron, Prometheus, Star Trek Beyond, Zootopia and The Jungle Book.
Looking at the charts, Zootopia (aka Zootropolis) is no.1 on the UMR and critics charts, fun animation but Thor 3 should have been up there instead it’s had some great reviews and it’s already grossed more than $400m in less than 2 weeks.
Idris Elba as James Bond? Nah he’s a good actor but Bond should stay white and no female Bond either. They’ve already ruined Dr. Who for millions of fans. The diversity thing is getting out of hand, would African Americans accept Matt Damon as John Shaft? I think not. 🙂
