  1. You contend [not unreasonably at least on the face of it] that you plug the ‘wrong’ stars at times so that you can draw the attention of viewers to the fact that those stars have pages. Again speaking for myself though I feel that there are flaws in your argument – for example

    (1) Loy and Willis are plastered all over your site as it is and anybody interested in them who follows the site could not fail to know they have their own pages

    (2) Willis’ popularity overall is beyond dispute and if Loy is as popular as you keep telling us why would you need to coax viewers to read her page or watch one of “her” films?

    (3) When I come across a new movie site or source the first thing I usually do is explore what it has to say about Laddie/Greg/The Duke/Brando etc and even other greats who are NOT my own particular faves.

    (4) If you wish to widen viewers’ interest it might be more productive to hype-up the lesser known stars rather than continue a possible fixation with “old favourites”. “I have grown tired of hearing about The 3rd Man.” – Orsen Welles

In my perspective all this is a fly in the ointment of the otherwise highly comprehensive provisions your site; but in my view it is a serious blemish. However “there it is”: that’s just me.

  2. Good subject. Good actor.

I’ve seen 14 of the 62 films on the chart, I expected more. Favorites include – Around the World in 80 Days, The African Queen, Quentin Durward, Beau Brummell, Cromwell, A Study in Terror, Those Magnificent Men and Theatre of Blood.

I don’t think I’ve seen his only Oscar-Nominated role as King Louis XVI, the husband of Marie Antoinette (1938), victims of the French Revolution.

    Good stuff Bruce. Vote Up!

    1. Hey Steve. Thanks for checking out our Robert Morley page. Tally counts: Bob 22, Flora19, Steve 14 Cogerson 11 and you 5. You bumped me off the medal platform..hope you are happy…..lol. I have only seen about half of your favorites. Like you, I have not seen his role in Marie Antoinette. He looks so young in the attached photo. Not many people get Oscar nomination on their first credited roles…but he is a member of that small group. Good stuff.

    1. Hey Dan. Good trivia lists on Robert Morley. Surprised he is ranked so high…..very high since he passed away so many years ago. His first list is massive…..with two tied with 6 movies with Morley. Have not heard of A. Cutbetherson….but have heard of WHP…..loved in Buck Rogers….at least I think that is the show I remember him from. Looking at the Oscar winning co-stars…..I see Morley put up a very solid total. Seems like not too many people reach the 40 mark. As always….good stuff….and thank you.

    2. WOW, massive list. well done Dan. incredible number of actors with multiple appearances. Morley must have been easy to work with.

  4. i saw 5 including 4 of top 6. 10 and favorite african queen. topkapi a 9. hidden gem cromwell an 8. i just revisited african queen this week, an all-time favorite. awesome plot, dialogue, humanity, character development , historicity, irony, satire, humor. and the best acting imaginable, Morley held up his part as Hepburn’s missionary brother.

    1. Hey bob cox…..thanks for sharing your thoughts on Robert Morley. Tally count: Hey Flora…thanks for checking out our Robert Morley page. Tally count: Bob 22, Flora19, Steve 14 Cogerson 11 and you 5. Good thoughts on The African Queen. That was one of my grandmother’s favorite movies. She only had two movies on VHS….The African Queen and The Wizard of Oz. Good stuff as always.
